Has anyone actually grabbed the iso/whatever is used by the web setup?

I tried the web setup, and depending on the option you choose initially, you seem to get a different set of files unpacked. I accidentally chose the wrong option, and the setup locked me into an upgrade. It created a folder called WindowsESD, with all the install files there. I ended up just downloading an ISO and using that instead.

Of note; Aero glass seems to be COMPLETELY GONE in Server. No "Desktop Experience" feature to add like in R2 and previous versions. You can't even change the window colours and only get Aero Basic or the high contrast themes. Attempting to use the Appearance settings simply gets you a "Not available in this edition of Windows." message.
Themes on and all the rest - it really seems to be gone.

I actually just had this happen with a Server dvd burned yesterday that I knew to be fine. Strangely switching to a different DVD drive solved it. I had been using the same USB burner that made the DVD in the first place - a drive that works *perfectly* otherwise, I might add - and used an old 360 HD-DVD drive instead. So more than likely if the hash matches and it burned fine - the drive is the issue.

@DeFacto
If installing in VMware, when selecting the iso when setting up the VM, choose "I will install the operating system later" in order to avoid Easy Install.
That means, don't specify installer disk/iso when creating the VM. Select Windows 7 (or Windows 7 x64) as guest OS and go on with the wizard. After powering on it, mount the iso manually (and reboot).
Hope this will work.
