Check out the system requirements. " Windows Consumer Preview x64" This is uploaded 27th, seems a bit early. Can't wait, Actual mentioning of the beta (Consumer Preview) on MS site. Hope its not a placeholder XD .. Getting hyped up!
Cool, but whats "PlayReady PC Runtime:?
Quote:
Microsoft PlayReady technology is optimized for the mobile industry to support the growth of online content services, and includes features designed to make it easier than ever for consumers to enjoy mobile digital entertainment. This runtime allows Windows 8 Consumer Preview PC based applications to access PlayReady content using the PlayReady PC Runtime API.

...They took the start orb away, That will be a risk, but also they're looking towards innovation and trying new things, but taking the start orb away is a no-no to me. I love the start button in the Developer preview.
Also, I was going to install the beta on my spare computer that has 3Gb of RAM, and a dual core but the VGA port got busted so, do you think I can run the Beta on my Dell Optiplex GX270 with a Pentium 4 and 1Gb of RAM? I really don't want to have to resort to trying it in a virtual machine or on another partition on my main because my main is strictly Windows 7 only.

What happened to the many Metro apps that were originally available in the previous build? Have they been moved to the Windows Store, or were they discontinued from the Windows line?
I'm asking this, since I was originally in the process of reviewing those as well in my coming Windows 8 Review for BetaArchive, yet if they were indeed moved to the Windows Store, then I will still review them, but as Windows Store apps, rather than Metro apps installed by default (with a notable exception to the earlier Developer Preview build, since it's still officially supported by Microsoft, yet no longer recommended for use).
Also, while this is somewhat offtopic, my coming Windows 8 Review for BetaArchive will have the following system requirements and system recommendations:
Minimum system requirements: Approximately 1 Ghz Windows-compatible processor, either native x86 or emulated x86 (may range from approximately 700 Mhz to 1 Ghz, depending upon the speed of the particular system configuration) 512 MB of RAM Windows Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8-compatible graphics adaptor Media capable of handling copies of the Windows Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8 setup files Approximately 10 GB of hard disk space Monitor capable of displaying graphics modes supported by Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 Usable keyboard, mouse, and/or other input devices Windows 8 Developer Preview (Build 8102 or similar builds)
System recommendations: Approximately 1 Ghz Windows-compatible processor or emulated x86 equivalent in terms of speed 1 GB of RAM PCI or AGP graphics adaptor capable of handling hardware rendering, with drivers compatible with Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 (either from the original equipment manufacturer itself or third party) Windows Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8-compatible PCI sound card CD/DVD/Blu-Ray/other optical disc drive (either hand burned discs of all formats or formats officially supported by Microsoft), USB solid state device or other such media capable of storing the Windows 8 Setup files (note that this may not apply in certain cases for direct downloads) Approximately 15 to 20 GB of hard disk space 15 Inch or larger SVGA color monitor Keyboard and mouse/trackball/touchpad/eraser head/other reliable pointing devices (note that this may not apply in some cases for people with disabilities) Windows 8 Consumer Preview (Build 8250 or similar builds)

Anyone have any luck getting the x64 VirtualBox graphics drivers working? I've installed VirtualBox Guest Additions in both Client x64 and Server, but I see this error for the graphics device: "Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37)."

Figured it out. Now running it in full-screen without issue!

Same error as in the developer preview. Signed in with my Live ID, setup the computer, rebooted and it won't accept my password and allow my account login to work
Piece of crap...

Seems they screwed up the Windows Server 8 download pages as well. First time you go there you "register" and choose your language, but you can never change this. I managed to grab the english one but I can't grab any other language since MS doesn't allow you to change it... argh, what the heck were they thinking...
I need to grab the other languages as well for BA...
