As I have a laptop with multi-touch, I like it as it is easier to use with touch. If you have a touch screen, it is a LOT better then 7 IMO.

I like the Metro design language and I think it will work great on tablets, but I'm not so sure about desktops/laptops. It's obvious that Metro in Win8 was designed with touch in mind and I believe that the normal Desktop will still be used a lot on devices that don't support touch.

I'm not sure if I like this or not...being a long time Windows user and going through every style change since W95, it feels like a huge jump from a couple simple toolbars. I think whenever I get around to using W8 it'll take me a while to get used to compared to my current W7 setup (just me thinking out loud here).
But I do agree with everyone that's said it so far, it does seem like it would cope better with touch-screen support like WP7.

I think Windows 8 is absolutely perfect for tablets or multi-touch devices. But for Desktop-PC or Laptop useless. The Windows 7 GUI (Desktop UI) is clearer as the Metro UI from Windows 8. The Ribbon UI and the new start screen are really god ideas for Windows 8. If you can“t switch the GUI“s, I think Windows 8 would be a failure

I would say I like the Metro look and it is a good idea, it's nice to change thinks up a bit. It really simple, especially for the tablets and touch screen computers. Also, it still has that Aero deskop. So the desktop user who likes the Aero desktop better can still use the Aero desktop. I personally prefer the Metro theme for the tablets and touch screen computers, and Aero for the desktops and laptops.

I would say for me this is a matter of personal opinion, Personally, I do not like the "Metro" UI of Windows 8. I would actually prefer the Aero of Windows 7. I still like Windows 8 though and I am looking forward to purchasing it.

As an interface for a tablet it looks quite solid. As a replacement environment for a desktop it falls way short IMO.

Agreed, it really does look more like it was just designed for tablets and nothing but.
