Forum rules


Please read the following rules before posting a download request in this area:

1. Don't post a request if you have under 10 posts as stated on the front page. If you do anyway, it will be deleted without further notice. This also applies to other members: If you see a request by someone with less than 10 posts and it hasn't been deleted yet, please don't reply to it.
2. Don't request for warez or any copyrighted software. Only betas (no matter how old or new) and finals of operating systems and applications that are at least 10 years old and therefore classified as abandonware are allowed to be uploaded to and shared on the BetaArchive FTP server.
3. If you have your own FTP server where you'd like other members to upload what you're looking for to, please don't post its login details in any open forum as that will probably lead to abuse. Post the login details in the Private Servers section instead.
4. Check that we don't already have the file on our FTP servers. If you don't have access to the FTP servers then ask someone who has (a moderator for example).

This is a true piece of the brazilian computer history. The "Querida, cheguei!" Warez CD was one of the first CDs of this kind to be made in Brazil. These warez CDs were known as "golden discs", because of their content and their color (all copies were made with Kodak Golden Recordable CDs). I've got a copy of this disc, but it's badly damaged. It's date is 1996-12-10. I'm now trying to recover it's contents using special software, it may take a lot of time. As soon as something gets fully recovered from the disc, I'll upload somewhere.

What type of content would be stored on this CD? Would this include any operating systems and/or updates released for operating systems? Since I'm collecting Microsoft operating systems (as with most people here), it would be greatly appreciated if you at least tried to recover as many of the Microsoft operating system releases as possible, since that's really what I'm looking for.

WinPC, it includes Windows 95 RTM for PCs without Windows in English and Brazilian Portuguese. The only update included is Win32s (version unknown).

Well, Drink-or-Die (DoD) released the Build 950 r-3 to r-6 update before, and as such, I already have it (the update files are included in the widely available Chicago Build 480 German package, originally released by air101), but have not yet been able to successfully replace the missing files and repack that build for release.

Oh, I forgot about that, sorry. Anyway, I did consider when I made my last post about using the replacement files from Build 950 r-2, but yes, I forgot that both Build 950 r-3 and Build 950 r-6 were available on AbandoNet, but I now remember downloading them back in around August.

Who released them, by the way?

I have no idea, perhaps Battler or mrpijey would know... They're available on Donators download server to be precise. I haven't tried them myself though...

So, I finished the recover process today. Unfortunately, Windows 95 in English, Brazilian Portuguese and Brazilian Floppy Version are unrecoverable. Win32s was, in fact, a mislabeled program. All stuff that was recovered and a few more abandonware that I had in my archive is being uploaded to the FTP.
