thanks that one works setup went smoothly except for a file it couldn't copy called banana.ini or something am on the desktop now and i sent the ftp admin a pm with highlights the problem with the incorrect serial

sounds like maybe a corrupt download , try the redownload and it might work . (also lol at microsoft for including banana.ini , awesome ! )

No, the problem is the bootdisk, which uses the name banana as the cd-rom device name and is confusing the setup.

not being off-topic, but still related to Chicago, the copy of Chicago Build 81 on the FTP is broken, the fixed one from KenOath isn't there.

we like to have originals on beta archive if you noticed , that is why we don't have the fixed neptune leak on there and the unmoved unbootable one .

but the original is broken and doesn't install and always throws a General Error 57, no matter what serial you put, it will always be invalid for that build, so the fixed one should be put on BetaArchive, if you haven't noticed, the copy of Build 58s is not the original here, it's a fixed one.

no ... from what i know the purpose of beta archive is not to make it super easy for you to install your build . its to preserve the history of microsoft betas and other betas . to get rid of the original one and include the fixed would be against that goal .

yeah, but if it is broken and doesn't install, it must be replaced with a working one, the copy of Longhorn 4093 for example is cracked and fixed.

No, There is with red underlined the text "Timebomb Yes" because it will be good for some chicago builds and for example LH3718 have it removed too.
Example : Chicago 58s = Timebomb No
Chicago 347 = Timebomb Yes
