The problem with this new biome is that you need to start a new map for it to work. And yes I agree, there should be more focus on critical bugs and limitations before adding more junk.

IIRC, any new biomes will appear randomly in maps you have, but only for chunks not rendered before (places you haven't been before).
I thought MC generated the spawn area, and then did random generation of terrain on the fly?

Every new spawned chunk spawns using the spawn mechanics of the current MC version. Remember the 1.8 update? The 1.7 maps (or older) spawned the new biomes and structures when the game created new chunks.
+ If most of the map is already explored, it's also possible to remove chunks and to force the game to spawn new terrain.
Edit: this isn't a prerelease but a weekly snapshot.

You're joking right? That's what minecraft is built off of The minecart bug, the Ladder bug, those were quirks from new features that got some of us interested in minecraft. They have to keep it entertaining. Once they release a full adventure mode (maybe an Elderscroll style thing That would be awesome) It'll get that much more interesting.
Bugs are natural, and can become kinda quirky. so don't go hating on minor bugs. Obviously if your game crashes, That's a problem.

Do you know anything about chunks rendering then they disappear for a couple of seconds then come back? it must be a rendering error in the code or something, cause I know it's not my GPU

They really need to find some way to make minecraft run better. Even on my Crysis ready computer, it runs like [censored] half of the time, I mean, I expect that my computer, that can run one of the most demanding games on the market, could handle a little java-written-blocky-voxel-rendered game... But then again, I suppose most of the lag comes from the procedural generation, as the world is constantly being built around you, I can see that putting stress on the cpu.

0_o Computer can play Crysis, but not Minecraft. Wow. Even when you tone down all the settings like particles and and clouds?! That's nuts! My computer renders normal distance on fast with decreased particles and no clouds and plays fine. Granted I have it all set up for speed at the cost of graphics, but that's what really counts in any game, performance and efficiency with what you got.

'bout the only game that would give you an edge with highest graphics is an FPS: and even than, I only think that's helpful when running a Recon type assault or sniping to catch those minimal movements.

Doesn't it work better on AMD GPUs? Minecraft is based on Java, and doesn't support DirectX, only OpenGL. Nvidia cards don't have the OpenGL level as high as AMD ones do. You can check yours by downloading OpenGL Extensions Viewer.

Since its written in Java, I doubt there are going to be any major improvements regarding Graphics or Resource allocation (there are barely any big games made with java for a reason).
I dont know any great details about java/minecraft too but I dont think its using the GPU much, RAM and CPU are way more important.

Well from what you said I believe it does, I have a HD 6850 with a quad core Athlon and Minecraft runs crystal at a solid 80FPS Highest graphics of course
