Hey Moderators! I know this is in the wrong category but can you move it to offtopic discussions (Its because Im limited to posting in certain fourms?) Say like a 9 yr old joined the fourm?? Would you ban them for being too young?

There's no age limit that I'd know off... Besides, what would a 9yo kid do here? But I guess you never can tell...

There is no age limit. There is nothing about that in the rules.

If a 9 year old joins the forum, he just needs to behave well, and that's it.

Preferably, we'd like all members here to be mature and not a bunch of spoiled brats.

We've had people younger than you. As dans34 said, Age doesn't matter, just don't be a spoiled brat and no-one will care. Similarly about your IT skill. While you should be competent enough to not need your hand held every step of the way in whatever you decide to do, we have people ranging from those with a mere passing interest in betas (in actual fact, Andy probably falls into this category - he's more here because he has a strange delight in running servers) to those who are hardcore beta enthusiasts who dream of betas. All are welcome, your conduct will count for much more than anything else.

Actually, no moderator/admin would ban you only by your age. It's just behavior. (And following the rules).

Hell, I was like 12 when I joined (I turn 15 in a couple of weeks) so it's nothing to be embarrassed about, and as for computer expertise, I couldn't even care less about them half the time nowadays, but I try to be a good member and not just an idiot and help if I can (admittedly that's rare)... Stick to the simple rules that people have mentioned in the topic and you really can't go far wrong :)

Just act mature, its not like there is adult content on this site so age shouldn't matter. I got into computers and software when I was quite young. Had Betaarchive and high speed internet been around at that time I would have likely joined.

Like the others said, keep yourself under control and don't act like you own the world. If a 4 year old joined here and managed to not incite the rage of everyone else with "dlkashridhasdjkfhucyhiueic o GOOO GOOO OOOOOO" he/she'd be accepted, I suppose. Though 4 years is stretching it a bit (lot)

I'd be extremely angry with BetaArchive if it was one of those "You must be 13 or older to register. This site complies with the Child Online Protection Act" sites.

I'm younger than many think.

This site spreads knowledge, not shady things like porn and cracks and etc, not like cracks can "damage" the mental state of children, beyond making them more lenient about using cracks in the future.

This site spreads knowledge and information, useful and suitable for all ages. One should not have to be x years of age to access the massive banks of information this forum and the FTP are. Of course, some of every age group act like idiots, but those don't equal the whole.

I think he's trying to reply to this:

viewtopic.php?f=13&t=23591

Next time, don't start a new topic to respond to one already there [and not locked].

I've almost accidentally created a new topic when replying to an existing one. It happens, can't really blame the guy when he just joined, if he has difficulty navigating the forums then that would explain it.

AFAIK there is no age limit, although most other forums have an age limit of 13.
