Yes, it's from the Sonic Generations beta for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

If Windows XP Service Pack 1 and Windows .NET Server 2003 Build 3689 are the same operating system (Windows NT 5), then how could one version not support your system's chipset, yet the other one supports it just fine? No offence, but since it is the same operating system, I'm wondering how this could possibly be, since I find it quite strange that there would be such an incompatibility at all.
Also, since you apparently had to install this build for compatibility reasons, it is worth noting that since even as recently as some of the latest Release Candidate builds, Windows 2000 still supported DEC Alpha (AXP) systems, some people have been able to install Windows 2000 on DEC Alpha (AXP) systems by way of these builds, basically bringing the long lasting Windows NT 5 to DEC Alpha machines. With this, you can almost continue to run supported software on those systems - the only other thing preventing you from doing so is the lack of developers willing to compile their software for the DEC Alpha-based Windows NT 5.
So I guess you're not the only person to install pre-release builds of Windows for compatibility reasons (although I will admit that your situation isn't nearly so dramatic as gaining support for an entirely different architecture).
Well, maybe it's just something messed up with my system, but last time I tried, XP SP1 BSODed (0x7B) after the line "Starting Windows Setup" in text mode. As this build is newer than XP SP1, I thought why not try this one, it should work better anyway, as it's newer.

Only problem I see with running .net server as a workstation is that some applications look specifically for NT 5.1 and refuse to install on any 5.2 OS, there's an app from Microsoft that can override this on a per application basis.

Incidentally, I'm using a Server 2003 beta on my 433 MHz Celeron with 64 MB RAM. I'm running SBS Codename Bobcat build 3604. Why? Because I'm a quirky person and I like running obscure builds and the strange red Bobcat branding is a plus. I use the computer for two things: Playing music in foobar2000 from an 8 GB flash drive (which is the same size at the PC's internal hard drive) and playing SimCity 2000. It's running no desktop background and a custom-created Watercolor-based classic scheme.

Out of curiosity, how're you enjoying your Mac mini, hounsell? I used to have one myself and loved it, an old 1.24 GHz G4 model - great little workhorses.

Decided to reinstall Mac OS X due to the fact the Mac App Store was just unusable on 10.6.8. I'm on good ol' 10.6.7 and it is perfect. I have a mix of My Little Pony, Happy Tree Friends and Rayman (Because Rayman Origins is awesome.)
Pinkie Pie XP!

Finally set up a proper Mac OS X Lion installation. I can't update to 10.7.1 or higher, but at least this is vanilla, and not Developer Preview 1, which I have been using until now. Now I don't have to do sound card AC97 emulation, I have full HD sound. It's also A LOT faster than Developer Preview 1. Yay!
