with the new timeline the function you can't block individual people fro messaging you , does anyone know of this is now not possible or did they just hide it really good?

anyway you can change back to the old layout ? if so if you don't like the new one don't use it i am pritty sure it's still there you just need to have a good look if not then it's not a very smart move from facebook

I'm using timeline and apart from my profilepage nothing has been changed... Blocking a person is not possible (can't remember it ever was (maybe because I'm very selective in my friendlist)) but you can block a group. So just make a "blocked for IM" group (or something like that) and change the settings so that you're off-line to this group (see the gear in the down right corner).

but the thing is they can still "message" you I have done what you have stated for a while now and that makes you offline to those people but they can still message you.

It's now in the privacy settings somewhere, that hasn't changed I think?

tried that blocking the person blocks them entirely
