I received many Christmas gifts, with many of them being food items (I have on my desk, Dried Mangols, as well as Pringlies), but also other things (the two gifts from Germany were "The Twits" by Roald Dahl and "The Big Book of Apes", both in German, not to mention that the latter refers to our hairy relatives of whom continue to walk on all fours to this day, yet share many of our traits such as scratching their heads and making facial gestures, picking their noses, and using their hands with opposable thumbs, fingers, and fingernails to do everything), as well as, before the two above mentioned German books, yet another German book, this time, what is basically a transcribed book version of the 1961 animated film "The 101 Dalmatians" (techincally "One Hundred and One Dalmatians"), though in German ("Cruella de Vil" becomes "Klara von Teufel", which means "Clara of Devil").
I also got other items, though the two large items were, finally, as follows, an IBM PS/2 Model 25 (with the monitor and the system unit being part of the same unit; linuxlove also has one), as well as an Apple Macintosh IISE (as for the IBM PS/2 Model 25, I could tell that it was an older all in one system unit by feeling the gift wrapping, since I could feel the cathode ray tube display, monochrome by the way, as well as the thick plastic rim).
The exact software on both systems has yet to be confirmed (with exception, of course, to the fact that the IBM PS/2 Model 25 does indeed have a graphical user interface operating system, though that could be anything from Windows 2.0 to Windows for Workgroups 3.1, or even some early version of OS/2, or possibly something even more advanced, depending upon whether the IBM PS/2 Model 25 systems have an 80286 processor or an 80386 processor, I'll have to check that). However, as far as the software is concerned, if it's at all possible, I'll surely save some of it for everyone here.
We still have to open our "retro" gifts up here in the attic underneath the silver tinsel tree, "retro", NOT antique, since retro refers to such gifts of which mostly relate to the mid century (after World War II); not historically that long ago, yet still outdated by today's standards, whereas antique refers mostly to at least before the first world war, or the Great Depression at the latest. Our retro items often refer to pop cultural items (such as TV shows and movies) from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s (I personally believe that the 1960s and 1970s had better ideas in that regard than today, in terms of popular culture), however, there sometimes are also technology-related items of which are now highly outdated, yet still quite popular among many people.
As far as my Official Windows 8 Review for BetaArchive is concerned, it's not finished yet, though I'll still consider it a Christmas gift once it's finally done, that is, if it's not overly delayed. At the moment, I'm taking screenshots of the various "figures" for the document itself in Paint, and playing Labyrinth (one of the games provided by Metro in Windows 8) on the side to pass the time while waiting in between (Labyrinth, in my opinion, needs much more levels, as opposed to just having ten).
We're also going to be visiting our relatives later this month and throughout part of January, meaning that I'll be receiving even more Christmas gifts there.

Ok, I got 3 dress shirts, a jacket, a single cup coffee pot and a pink mini mag light...not a lot, but meh, I guess I can say that for christmas I got my new(to me) desktop which I got about a week ago.
As for why I didn't get much: $1900 per month pay isn't much when $1400 goes to rent :/.

2.4ghz i5 quad core laptop with 8gb of ram. Graphics card is terrible but I can't complain it was free!
Also gift cards and $300 towards the mac mini I want this july (when mac 10.8 or whatever next generation system comes out). which would be a $900 dual core i7 with 4gb ram, 500gb hdd, and 256mb Radeon 6630M or $1000 quad core i7 with 4gb ram, 500gb hdd, and 384mb Intel HD 3000 Integrated ram. I'm not sure which is more important to me yet, quad core or dedicated graphics. I would get 8gb ram if I had the money, otherwise I would have to upgrade at a later time.

FSX Gold edition (I'm gonna install windows)
I'm actually thinking about buying that today (was going to last week but didn't get around to it). Funny that at the shops the Gold edition is same price as the Deluxe, who would buy the Deluxe?

I'm starting a flight community up which will do commercial and fighter pilot training in FSX. Of course it requires addon aircraft though.
