Going to visit my grandparents. They're three hours north of here, so it's quite a drive. Two whole days without my computer....what am I gonna do????

Everyone seems to be going to their grandparents for winter holidays. I'm going to the father's side grandparents this year, and there will be:

• Family
• Ponies
• NES games
• Portal
• Cheesecake

So I think I'm going to have a good time.

For me...I"m not doing anything (no money) so I guess that means taking pictures on Christmas morning (I was volunteered to do it, NOT by me), working on random stuff and not being able to stay home over my break.

I'm going to my maternal grandparents. We shall have a Wii, my snarky shoe designer uncle, many Apple devices, hours of tech support for me (uncle buys grandparents hi-tech stuff, they don't know how to use it, they make me show them. What fun.), and enough food to feed a large third-world country. Hey, we're Midwesterners. We like our food.

Well, I also go visit such relatives as my grandparents, however, we do not leave until shortly after Christmas Day itself.

We still celebrate Christmas Eve and Christmas Day themselves at our own house, and with ourselves.

Also, I myself am predicting many, many very nice and special Christmas gifts, including some of which relate to my (quite obvious) interests and involvement in technology, not to mention that we're also going to be watching many Christmas specials in the days leading up to Christmas Day itself.

Finally, I'm trying quite hard to finish my upcoming Official Windows 8 Review for BetaArchive (you can see the "Coming Soon" version of its official logo in my signature) as soon as possible, especially in that I hope that at least the Client counterpart (as opposed to the Server and various Developer counterparts) will be finished by late this month or early January. While I have been preparing for it since having tested the earlier Windows 8 builds, and provided the various "Mini-Reviews" of them, official work on it has started on November 16th, if I remember correctly.

Within the last three to four years, especially, I have also often received certain computers for Christmas, especially older ones of which were not manufactured within the last decade, but occasionally also ones of which are at least relatively modern (at least in comparison) and therefore more recent.

I'm even receiving a gift from Germany (and this, by the way, unlike many of our other gifts of which we've received from there, does NOT have anything whatsoever to do with the German language or the German, Austrian, Swiss, and Liechtenstein people, but rather, it just happened to come from that part of Western Europe, not to mention that, especially considering my interest in technology, and also that this is Western Europe, it could easily be yet another of my technology-related gifts, but none of us other than my Mother of whom purchased it will know for sure what it is until I open it on Christmas Day).

Let's just say, however, that the Official Windows 8 Review for BetaArchive is perhaps my greatest Christmas gift to this community ever, even as much as it most likely won't be released here until later this month or earlier in January at the earliest.

Depending on when they were manufactured, as well as how powerful they are, some of those systems could still quite possibly run Windows NT 5 (Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003), actually. I've seen quite a number of Windows 9x-based systems, for example, of which could be upgraded to run Windows NT 5, due to meeting the system requirements for it.

So, if I didn't want to keep any systems of which didn't have Windows NT 5 installed on them, then I would at least check first to see what systems were capable of running Windows NT 5 enough to be practical, not to mention that I would sort them out among the systems of which could not run Windows NT 5, at least not enough that it would be at all practical in terms of performance.

However, I have successfully kept basically all of my systems these past many years, though I haven't had the time to work with them because of my current work, especially regarding Windows 8 (the Official Windows 8 Review for BetaArchive, among other things).

Mostly home, three days at grandparents. At home I'll do all my school work, and in the rest of the time, read Apple Internals, osx86, xcode, this kind of stuff.
