Everyone nowadays are creating metro styled applications in anticipation of Windows 8 RTM release. Many people on the forum are also developing or asking for metro styled applications from web browsers to minecraft. Don't you think that everyone is overdoing the METRO?

Not at all. Metro is simply another UI design and people are trying to adapt to it as quickly as possible. The two big features I see Microsoft promoting heavily in Windows 8 are the Windows Store and the Metro UI. Metro could be (and is) a really, really great UI but if the Windows Store sits at 0 apps when Win8 hits Release, the whole thing will be a failure.

To be honest I think that Metro done right - as it stands in, for example, MetroTwit for Windows 7 or foursquare for Windows Phone 7 - is awesome. I do however agree that there are too many applications out there that are trying to get in on the craze, so to speak, and are doing a horrible job at it.

It's not like developers are just going sit around a wait a year, they have to jump on board with everyone else.

That's no excuse to put out, excuse my bluntness, garbage however. That's the sort of attitude that ruined the Android Marketplace. It'd be a shame to see the same happen to W8 and WP7's marketplace. It's about quality, not quantity.

There is much more to Metro than just the design. It is also (at least in the case of Windows 8) a programming language, among other things.
Even my upcoming Windows 8 review for everyone here at BetaArchive is not going to be all about Metro, granted, while it will discuss Metro quite a bit, it will also discuss Windows 8 in other ways besides any of the Metro-related updates.
Also, I don't think that everyone here is all about (and/or on about) everything Metro either, just that some people are interested in it, especially from having tested Windows 8.
Finally, Metro follows much of the current general style of which has been commonly used in the marketplace for the past several years, so you can't possibly conclude that anything that even resembles Metro in the least bit is Metro-inspired.

I personally happen to LIKE Metro (it's a lot simpler than current UIs, which is good for my poor eyesight. Less info to absorb), but I don't think it's the be-all and end-all of UI design. Frankly, some programs just should NOT be in Metro. Others are perfectly suited for it. What it really comes down to is a matter of taste and user preference. Do you find it intuitive and easy to use? Great. Do you think it's stupid? Well, we can agree to disagree.
