Not sure exactly, but I'm pretty sure I was googling old Windows betas, or then I was googling whether or not Apple has had Mac OS Betas. Regardless, I found an old thread, thought this was an interesting site and decided to join.

I was looking for some longhorn builds.

I came looking for an ISO of neptune, as i had no backup of my ISO of 5111, and i needed a new one, so i came. I was a member of www.osbetaarchive.com awhile ago, i dont remember my user though... but anyways i got FTP access and i got an ISO of neptune again thank god.

I discovered BA back when it was about a year old (2007), and I found it through, if I recall correctly, a friend of mine (now person I don't like), Bender, gave me a link to BA and told me it was where I could find stuff like Longhorn.

And yeah.

I found BetaArchive in 2009, when I was looking for Windows 1.00, which at the time I thought was the same version shown in BYTE Magazine December 1983. I didn't join BA until 2010.

I found BetaArchive through WinPrj, a now-defunct Windows customization forum.

I miss that place. Their Windows 98 super mod was cool.

Well, you might want to try contacting marxo, since he was the one who originally ran that place, if he's still reading the forums, that is.

And by the way, nice to see that you have finally returned. I personally think, if you have have not done so already, that you should first, download and test out everything that you missed, then, download and test all of the Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 builds that were released (again, if you haven't already downloaded them from other places), and then finally, install the Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 Release Preview (Client)/Release Candidate (Server) build (Build 8400), and then, if you can find a decent download link (I've found one extremely slow one without membership to the site hosting, for Part 1, still more than three hours left on a modern - with Windows 7, almost certainly Service Pack 1 - PC, with an extremely fast and reliable Internet connection at that), possibly even Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 RTM Build 8400.

Also, if you want, you might be interested in changing your avatar, since with the Release Preview of Windows 8 and Release Candidate of Windows Server 2012, Microsoft changed their Windows flag emblem to reflect the Metro UI (do a search of "Metro" to see what I mean, unless you've already seen it by now).

I may have been gone, but I kept up on betas. Kinda.

As for my avatar, I'll change it eventually, but atm, I'm too lazy.

Well, if you kept up on the betas, then I hope you still kept up on Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012's development, or at least tried to install the builds themselves on your system (whenever it was possible, that is).

I was looking for Whistler Server builds and those were one of the first things I downloaded from the FTP.
