Hi, I found this curious operating system on a CD (yes again that old drawer ). I though the project was death in the meantime and I checked the internet for more details. I found that the operating system is still available at the developer site (http://www.invissolutions.com/) with a enhanced version (Copen). So I downloaded the free copy of Helix and run it in a VM. It's a strange way of think an Operating System, all you have is a pseudo-web based interface that uses the host hardware. Version of Helix is really reduced in functionalities, Copen seems to be more complete but it cannot be downloaded for free or trial. So here my question: what do you think about this kind of Operating Systems? Could them be useful for some sort of activities?

Uhm... Maybe. Helix OS1 is really old I guess the first version was around 2005, cloud computing was at its begin at the time. Helix also need an host to run, in the last version (Copen) they say you need a Windows operating system so this is a little be far from cloud computing features.
