Finally! I have been waiting for this… for ages…

Actually this is the ONLY section from here about Games. But obviously could be in the Web Design/Programming Support and Discussion.

That is great! Finally, you can see how the engine is arranged id tech 4. Now you can make even better games for linux and other OS!

The GitHub release is uploaded by id too, and it is better to download from GitHub, id FTP is so sloooooow...

I think to get 10 MB does not require high speeds

I find it amazing how this game stands up to today's standards, it's even backwards compatible on the xbox360, so you can play the original xbox version

ID released code of Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Enemy Territority some time ago.
These could be easier to use for own projects and run on more devices and PCs as Doom II runs on MP3 players and Quake III on Dreamcast and old phones.

Wasn't expecting to see this. This will definitely be interesting to play with

I can't wait to see what comes out of this one. There's already games in development for this. This source code release is one of the ones I am really excited about.

Ok sorry, almost a decade later and I am still bitter.
Anyways, good to see this released, I had an idea for something to do with the engine, but was dissapointed when the code was not out there.
