Why Microsoft replace this excellent beautiful OS, with a BIG FAIL OS called Vista?
Now I really understand why people here loves beta releases... sometimes the betas are even better than the normal retail releases.
When I think on a beta release of an OS... I think on a mixture between the new OS and the previous release. That happens here... but anyway the differences are clear.
Windows Longhorn (for Microsoft a loooong nightmare...) is awesome. I have a beta of it (not from here, from another website). It didn't have this crystal theme, it had a XPish style with some modifications. Don't understand why Vista doesn't have all this decorations.

Because Longhorn was the product of "feature creep", the tools used to build Longhorn weren't very mature and the developers weren't used to using the new tools. Vista may be considered as a failure to the consumer, but it many ways it was a success - It forced the computer industry to bring some tech that was once considered top-of-the-line performance hardware down to the average consumer. Plus, some technologies from Longhorn were carried over into Vista - Desktop Window Manager and the WIM-based Setup come to mind.

That'll be a 36xx to 400x build which used a visual style called Plex. The "crystal theme", or Aero, wasn't present there because it simply wasn't there - That was a feature that came along somewhat late in the 4xxx range.

I do admit; that looks pretty cool. It's even better than Longhorn Reloaded! Please try and add as many of the Longhorn 4074 patches into it as you can find (New Folder; Wifi; etc.). This looks GREAT!

New Folder is included, but what's the wifi patch?

Nice to see that you managed it to work. But what about Desktop Aurora? There was some errors in XAML original file, but it can be fixed(I have some files from AXP). From what I remember there are some Aurora entries in aero.msstyles. There was also old M4/M5 Aurora which use DX meshes.
There were also some Phoedo(with 3D View) resources on 4074 if I remember correctly.
@giantseen: what the wifi patch fixes? I have it somewhere I think. I know that someone posted it on joejoe with other LH fixes, but the Longhorn section was closed and deleted.

@Panda X: I'm much more for full-flavored integrated iso. However maybe I can help with something else, maybe everything will be much easier if all work is made at i386 platform then the install.wim form.

i386 method takes too long to install compared to WinPE 3 and it gives us the option of applying fixes and changes by default rather than applying them post install.

It'll be released soon with some other fixes and the packed into a WinPE 3 image.

When will it be uploaded? Can drivers be added to it as well? (2000/XP drivers)
No idea when, shouldn't be too long though.
You can install the drivers when you install it, most drivers work on Longhorn if you install them manually with the .inf files for the driver though some GPU drivers might not work as intended.
