To answer his question, yes, I'm fairly certain this is the last build, sort of a release candidate before MineCon in 6 days.

Notch said they "made a mistake" with RC1 so RC2 is coming out soon.

Did anyone grab the RC1 files? Seems they are removed now and replaced with RC2.

As I understood it, the 'RC1' was really an RC2 with its version string still reporting RC1.

RC2 is already out, I'm too lazy to link it but Notch has posted a link to it on his twitter feed.

RC1 was actually a build with a nasty bug where the weapons would wear down way too fast. I just thought we would keep it for the collection, but it's not that important.

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but new splash text has been added and some changed.
This is the yellow text displayed on the top right-hand corner of the title screen, BTW.

Yes, I was indeed talking about the 1.0 version.
MineCon actually starts tomorrow, I certainly hope that most of the bugs are fixed.

You can find splash.txt inside minecraft.jar, this has the messages in it.
