Anyway to get it installed?

Keeps refusing because of a premature error.

Care to give some more information, like what build of Windows 8? For all we know you could be running 8102 or 7850. Any description on what the error is?

I've had the same steam installation since 2006. From XP to 8. All you need to do is run steam.exe as admin, it should launch perfectly. Close steam and launch it as normal and it'll tell you it needs to install the service, click ok. Wait a few minutes then kill steam's process (as it tends to hang in 8) and start steam up again. It should work from now on.

Build 8102 and all it says it's a Premature error.
