Hi, can anybody suggest me the Best Video Converter software which is capable of converting big size videos at faster speed and that too available free of cost or provide me with some full version download link, if possible.

I use Sony Vegas's transcode option, but Vegas isn't free. If you have a Linux setup, you could use Arista Transcoder. It works pretty well, though it DOES take a while.

Xilisoft never worked for me. Plus, it's not free.

I use Zamzar online for small videos, and Allok for everything else http://www.alloksoft.com/
It's NOT free, but it does a hell of a job converting videos.

you can use VirtualDub, which can convert any video format to AVI (mainly useful on Windows) :)

Sounds good I will try it. Surprised I have never heard of it with all the video work I do.

Why on earth would you want to convert everything into AVI? I have more problems with .avi files than I do with anything else...

The best and the safest way is to place the video into a video editor and export it to other formats. One of them you can use is NCH.

You could try Badaboom, it uses GPU and is like 10x faster, but it costs. There is another one called 3gp video converter from free studio

Handbrake's good, especially for presets for Apple handheld devices.

I don't know how anybody would not know about or not use MediaCoder video and audio converter app. It's by far the more versatile and complete compared to any I have tried (and I've tried most of them specified here in replies). It's free and full. It has 64bit and 32bit kits.
Give it a try here www.mediacoderhq.com/dlfull.htm

Hi,
Assuming you're using windows then the link below is a free and easy to use video converter.

http://www.iwisoft.com/videoconverter/d ... verter.php

If you're on a mac then "handbrake" is easy to use and free, if your using linux then delve into the world of "mencoder"

Kindest regards
James

I convert Vob into MP4 using handbrake and then from MP4 to WMV using Live Movie Maker. Works great for what I am doing.
