Hey,
Recently I've been fiddling around with Windows 7, customizing it to suit different scenarios. I started using RT 7 Lite, I like the program as it has a wide range of features and is very customizable (bit limited with the tweaks menu), but it is VERY SLOW at loading images and compiling images.
Started using Vlite a few days ago, its A LOT FASTER than RT 7 Lite at loading and compliling the image. However, it doesnt seem to have as many features as RT 7 Lite, for example there seem to be more removeable components in RT 7 Lite than vLite. Another big problem for me using vLite is, editing the default windows features (you cant do it).
So theres an obvious trade off, more features for slower load and compile time or less features for much quicker load and compile time. I've decided to stick with vLite because....(I'm very impatient). But i would still like to achieve everything you can do in RT 7 Lite.
1. There must be a way to define the default windows features in the WIM (maybe a custom registry?), if so, how would i do this? 2. I've noticed that although vLite removes components, it doesnt remove the shortcuts to them (I have a shortcut to the "Snipping Tool" in my start menu that doesnt work) (Is there an easier way to stop this without just mounting and editing the Start Menu in the Program Data folder?) 3. Once customizing one edition of Windows 7, how do I create an AIO image WIM? 4. How easy is it to replace a feature that was removed in the WIM image? (Like the Games Explorer or Internet Explorer etc..)
I understand that my post maybe a little confusing, thanks for reading.

both work same speed on my PC and RT7 has support for 7 SP1 which vlite does not
the only downside for RT7 is it needs huge ass WAIK installed while vlite only needs 2 files from it
in any case vlite is gone in the dust

Wow, thats interesting then, RT 7 Lite is much slower on my computer than vLite 1.1 or 1.2 Even using different operating systems (7 and vista, as 8 BSODs) Its even quicker using vLite when you have already used that image once, it literally takes 5 seconds to load the image files

small recommendation, don't re-use images always do with clean start, otherwise [censored] happens yes it will take longer but is safer
as for questions, no with nLite it was easier through simple scripting but vista and 7 with this wim crap is just plain hassle
for 1. you could probably still do things via BAT+import registry but you'd have to know how to make "addon" for it
try asking at MSFN forums for these kind of stuff they do it all the time

In my experience, RT 7 has worked for me more times than vlite, and mostly because of the sp1 support. I've got a 900mhz celeron-based Eeepc running a custom build of 7, thanks to RT 7. It's a great app for customizing windows 7, even if it needs the whole WAIK installed.
2. wait the message to come [ "...windows could not configure one or more system components..." ](lame)
3. press and hold shift + f10 to open cmd console
4. go to oobe in system32 dir [cd oobe]
5. run msoobe.exe and make ur user.....after finishing it then run Audit.exe the system should reboot it self automatically if not msoobe.exe progress didnt finish
