I managed to carry the entire shell of Windows Longhorn 5048!! Soon, I'll post all the images contained in the offer and I made all the necessary DLLs to do this in any edition of Server 2003! I will focus now on the Vista setup, try to port the interface of Vista beta 1 (the last able to run on Server 2003) and porting DirectX 10 for Server 2003 (and also Windows XP). Soon I will post news, documentation of what I did and everything related. Wait!

For those who think they gave up and the Shorthorn died before birth, you're wrong ... This weekend, I showed screenshots, and during the week, showed all the documentation I could. And more ... The Shorthorn is not just a cheap modification, includes the introduction and use of resource and longhorn new things (like interface meters). On the basis of Windows: It could be yes based on XP, because the kernel is very similar to XP Server 2003, however, some things do not work as uxtheme Longhorn 5048 ... So apart from Server 2003 to be more fast, I decided to do what Microsoft has done since the beginning of the Longhorn project: transform Server 2003 workstation and make changes ... but it will be in the documentation, wait and see

Yes, it is limited to files, but even now I put the standard for visualization "icons," folders with more than 50 items have been displayed correctly. Well, I intend to try to pass the shell of Vista 5112, and will focus on other outstanding shares of the project, but it will probably be complete until feveiro, 2011 (10 perhaps diretx ...). I will continue experimenting with the shell pre Longhorn reset, particularly from build 4074 and 4093, it could only go to the 4053 (4066 does not work). The next few screens, I will show the Shorthorn as it was being built on top of the shell 4033, which is the last build that accepts WindowBlinds (Tues used for special effects, and the system of themes above the Longhorn build 3718 not working on server 2003 (at least not happened yet). compilations older programs that I had to get through the views by 2003, replacing some other programs and functions of the standard 2003.'ll post more information in the documentation of my work. Windows Shorthorn, much better than any other Windows, without Microsoft = PPP
Unfortunately, as I am alone in this project, and not have any references who could do this before, it took me too long to get it ... The project began in late 2008, or is completing three years .. What was teenager in 2005, did not have much concern about this ... because they were girls and the study = PPP, if not, the project would be completed in the year of release of Windows Vista. Windows 7 is still the best option currently, but on my computer lose performance in games, e. .. as a matter of honor, I will finish this project
Confirmed, "icons" view on Longhorn 5048 dont' have 50 items limit! In others views, 50 items limit is present.

This might be sort of an odd question but what about driver compatibilty? If drivers don't work then (potentially) core functions (well not really core but) like sound may not work and also Wi-Fi especially.

I have only a problema with Sata drivers for notebook...WinPE 1.6 and WinPE 2005 don't work with new sata drivers. For install, only in IDE mode. Wi-fi drivers work fine
Tomorrow i go post more screenshots this build(with longhorn 5048 shell) and with longhorn 4033 shell. After, i go post with Longhorn 3683 shell and first Windows Shorthorn build, yet based on Windows XP and text mode setup

Well, I hoped to launch the beta already on October 30, but the work of the college and will not let another course ... but it will not take time to improving the speed and stability of the system shell, since the 2003 is stable enough. I have more screens, then or later I'll post ... After launching the Beta, I will work on Windows Media Center in Vista Beta and DirectX10 (if I can carry the 10, 11 is easy = P)

I changed the paradigm of building completamenteo Shorthorn. And I discovered that it is impossible to port DX10 + xp pro, has not pq dll dependency, but, dependence WDDM driver at least 1.0 So, invariably, will become obsolete ... What I do is then try to optimize more still some version of Windows 7 or 8. But ... I could port the Windows Media Center of Vista build 5219, and I'll try to make other builds to the public. But notice, it will be from Longhorn 5048, then will have some errors, which can only be corrected with reverse engineering oO I had very little time to see that today, the college consumes me too ... Anyway, soon I will post new news ... Even if it's obsolete, I'll finish this project, as a matter of honor!

So someone is still interested in using Windows Shorthorn? I'll upload the Beta 1, I want to log bugs! Hey .... how do you upload?
Depending on file size I might want to try it. I don't think you can upload customizations onto FTP, you would have to use some other service (not megaupload either).

Well, similar to requirements would be compiling a "lighter" Longhorn: 256 mb of memory (recommended minimum of 512 mb) Processor 700 MHz or more Hd of at least 20 gs (installed on the system may be less than 4GB) This all of the updates, and other things integrated, not so fast, and it is compatible with all commonly used .... However, what is making me think about quitting, is not found a way to port the interface of Vista beta 1, which for me is perfect and without bugs grotesque, and explorer of the 5048 is very problematic, and still not getting success or, rather, an idea or people who can help me circumvent the main problem of it.

Even with the problem I reported, I'm perfecting the Beta 1 to be good in most computers, and I'll post screens tomorrow. At most, next week, send a compilation to downaload, regardless of how you are
