This message has occurred every time when I tried to make calls by using Skype v5.0.0.156 in my laptop (Win 7 Ultimate, 1GB RAM). My laptop has a stock built-in sound card, but Skype did not detect them. Maybe it was because of:

- absence of webcam drivers (see here, Vista drivers does not work)
- absence of headphones or microphones (this is mostly required, as I don't have all of them, most of them are broken)

Is this your same laptop which its speakers are not working?

If so then thats it: Your sound card is damaged and need replacing.

I believe that it is because you have your sound card or the speaker is not working.

Yes, I borrowed my main speaker from my main computer to test integrity.

My sound card is not damaged, it was embedded from the laptop's motherboard as a chip.

Give us a screenshot of Device Manager so we can see what hardware isn't working. Unlike most of the people here, I actually repair computers for a living. I CAN HELP YOU. Instead of asking for help and then ignoring EVERYONE like you did in the webcam thread you made, just take some suggestions and we'll get everything working.

It's funny that you reference another thread where you also didn't respond to any of the replies or let anyone know if any of the suggestions had helped or not... If you don't know how to install drivers through Device Manager might I recommend that you stop working on your computer and start using it that the tool it's meant to be. Let someone else fix it. If you don't actually plan on using anyone's suggestions, stop asking and wasting time. I'm really tired of trying to help people and then they just disappear, as if they haven't even read your suggestions.

You know you van install Vista drivers on windows 7 right? they use the same Driver Architecture. Do as the post above says, sow us the device manager, we need to see whats what in there.
