yes, but that's the hardest part anyway... I read somwhere that early xbox360 software was developped on an emulator written for some apple computer (probably PowerPc) because at that time the console was still a prototype... anyone knows about that?? If I get the link of the source I'll post...
Early Mac OSX (10.4.8) can be emulated in VMWare IIRC.

yes, but what "native" developement means?? do they wrote some kind of xbox's OS for the G5??
G5's are PPC, Xbox is PPC, Code written in PPC is "native" to PPC. MS did (or may have, I'm not very knowledgeable in this topic) early testing development using a G5 PPC. Once the Xbox hardware platform matured enough they wrote it specifically for that. You can emulate a G5 by converting the PPC code to (most likely in our case) x86 code in an emulator, therefore you should be able to write an Xbox emulator of the same time - the question is can it be done fast enough.

If someone would have just mentioned to half of the idiots in this thread that PPC binaries can't be run on x86 and that emulation of another CPU architecture is EXTREMELY slow this thread would only be half as long as it is.

PearPC is slow enough emulating a single-core PowerPC chip. When you have to emulate a triple-core PowerPC chip, like what the XBox 360 uses, it becomes too slow to use.

Ok but we only need to start emulation maybe it will be slow but in time we will get better pcs in about 1-2 years and it will be possible to run it.

It could be another decade till we have CPUs with enough power to emulate a triple core PPC CPU. To this day it's still a rough patch to emulate a Nintendo 64 properly which came out almost 15yrs ago. It's probably best to not get your hopes up of playing 360 titles on your PC anytime soon.

I can play Super Mario Galaxy (Wii game) on the Dolphin emulator in full (hacked higher than the native console) 1080p 16xaa and 16xAF at full speed without issue on my computer and you are telling me I can't emulate a Nintendo 64 properly? Mind you Dolphin only uses 1 thread for the PPC CPU emulation.

that's true... playing would be very difficoult but I would like to have one, just you know, to try games/betas ecc without having a Jtagged console or burning dvd's... not really for playing them...
