Hey, I know their have been a lot of threads about changing the background picture of the Login Screen, but i havent seen anything on how to actually edit the login screen? Say for example, getting rid of the user picture or moving the user picture?

Hi, you know, the easiest way to edit the windows login screen is to use TuneUp utilities or another app, e.g. "Logon Screen" http://www.chip.de/downloads/Logon-Screen_44776604.html But I don't know how to change the position of the user image.

I have googled it already, the only thing that comes up is how to change the background picture and the transparency of the buttons. But that's not what I want to do

If I'm correct, you have to modify "authui.dll" file in "System32" folder. That is all of the login/lockscreen stuff. If you want to change the background picture, that should be one of the files in the "Branding" folder.

There is a great program that I helped Julien Manici to create and update that changes the background and has great features related to that, but we haven't figured out how to move the user picture around. It can be found at http://www.julien-manici.com

well, i know that the authui.dll plays a part in the login screen, not sure how much or whether it controls the other features that could be used to completely change it
I saw something the other day which looked like it changed the login screen completely to a more Mac ish interface, but i didnt take much notice at the time and have forgotton where i found it now.

My question is, how would you customize it?
You would need to know some DirectUI, as the logon screen look is programmed in DirectUI.
