Forum rules


Please read the following rules before posting a download request in this area:

1. Don't post a request if you have under 10 posts as stated on the front page. If you do anyway, it will be deleted without further notice. This also applies to other members: If you see a request by someone with less than 10 posts and it hasn't been deleted yet, please don't reply to it.
2. Don't request for warez or any copyrighted software. Only betas (no matter how old or new) and finals of operating systems and applications that are at least 10 years old and therefore classified as abandonware are allowed to be uploaded to and shared on the BetaArchive FTP server.
3. If you have your own FTP server where you'd like other members to upload what you're looking for to, please don't post its login details in any open forum as that will probably lead to abuse. Post the login details in the Private Servers section instead.
4. Check that we don't already have the file on our FTP servers. If you don't have access to the FTP servers then ask someone who has (a moderator for example).

Windows 95
This one has the Setup Files and AUTORUN files only, but as a bonus I made them bootable. Click here to download it, and enjoy!

Eh... nice effort I suppose, but rather pointless when you can just boot from a bootdisk then run the full setup from the original disc/ISO.

Windows 3.1 & Windows 95
@FoobyZeeky, With Virtual PC and other VM software it's rather pointless but for the people who want to run these software on real machines (like me) it's very handy. Floppy's are hard to get these days so that's where the bootable CD comes in. So to me this is very usefull. :)

Don't ask me for uploading anything outside BetaArchive (so no MF, RS, MU and others). I will explicitly upload to the BA FTP for centralized storage and preservation...

However, a PC with hardware that Windows 95 supports will most likely have a floppy drive (and blank floppy disks are very cheap from Ebay etc.). Additionally, the ISO that Javier has provided us with only has the SETUP files, unfortunately.

so does mine but either way it's not too hard to add a boot record to a 95 disk, I've made them myself using my awesome Gateway 200 P5-100 recovery disk (has a program that is step by step for partitioning and formatting. Also has a auto-installing CD-ROM driver that works with everything ).

You can post a link or something for the bootable, but this probably won't make it to the FTP... As for the other one, we probably already have it.

people may want to know which version of Windows 95 it is, is it 95A ( the original release ),95B or 95c?

as for only having the setup files, that leaves you more room to add your own files ( drivers,your fav apps, windows 95 service packs and patches,etc )

950 = RTM
950A = OSR1.0
950B = OSR2.0
950C = OSR2.5

Those are the versions reported in System dialog, on the other hand there are 1111, 1214, etc. IIRC. Another build number mess... :?
