Derp? Yeah, because a giant ball of gas which takes light 8 minutes to reach Earth from, is going to affect the way the continental plates collide as they drift over the molten rock layers below.
Learn science.
Yeah, that's true, except for the fact that there are some pretty well known potential links between the sun and earthquakes. http://bit.ly/p9doxn Derp.
Point out at least one result from that Google search which is not vague speculation, or utter BS. I mean, the first result is from a website called "alien-homepage.de".

In terms of Christian, Jewish, and Muslim (Abrahamic) theology, there is absolutely no way in which the world could possibly end on December 21st, 2012.
First, according to at least the Christian bible, no one on earth will know the exact day or hour in which Christ will return, however, there are numerous signs of the End Times.
Second, even if we are living in the End Times, as according to Christian theology, the world still can't possibly end in 2012, let alone on December 21st that year, since we would be in the end of the Tribulation period by now, and would have been in it since around late 2005, which is quite pepostrous, to say the least, especially considering that no such "troubling period" has occured since the two world wars earlier in this generation (the last century).
Finally, with all of this, contrary to what some people are being led to believe, there is as such, absolutely no moral base for the theory regarding the supposed end of the world in 2012, let alone on the exact day of December 21st. Even the Mayan calendar, which some people believe predicts the end of the world on that date, does not actually predict the end of the world in any sense, but rather reverts to the first year after that point passes, and as such, is recursive in this way, meaning that this is only a mere numerical implication, and has nothing to do with prophetic beliefs whatsoever.

And I'll add about what Muslim (Abrahamic) believe in:
We have known day we'll reach we call it "Doomsday", but we don't know when this day will be. In this day, all living things (Including Humans) will die and the life will end, then all dead people will be relive again to be held accountable for its work in this world. The bad people or people who do bad work more than good work; if they're muslims they will be in The fire of Hell to torment until his bad work vanish, then he will be in Paradise forever.
So in conclution: There will be day where the live will end. But nobody knows when it will be, and being in 2012 is low percent to be believed.

On December 22, 2012, most everyone who thought it was real is gonna be angry, because what they believed in was just outright proven wrong, and there's nothing they can do about it.

I don't think much will happen, but notice the rioting and market crash happened between a solar flare, I believe that it could be a huge market crash or riot.

The end began the very day we crawled out of the mud and decided that we should believe fantasy stories about the end and try to predict it.
Seriously, there's a far greater risk that we ourselves will kill the planet than some cosmic (or religious, for those of you that believe in that, I don't) event. It will be all by our own hand, caused because of our own stupidity.
And no one knows when that happens. Not a shaman high on weed, not a writer high on shrooms or the local gypsy tarot reader.

The world won't 'end' because it's a massive lump of minerals spinning around in the cosmos, not a story, as the term 'end' implies. Human inhabitation of the planet will certainly fade away as the slow process of biological reproduction and genetic mutation (also known as 'evolution') continues. We are but one species who will have dominated the planet for whatever reason, until the Sun's lifecycle comes nearer to its close and expands, engulfing the earth and almost certainly destroying any carbon-based lifeforms on or near the surface.

What I just posted will happen in a couple of billion years, I don't think we need to worry.

So far the world ending is proven to be more likely at the hand of the human than nature itself, any 'global warming' crap/no-ozone-layer/either of that is our own fault.
Regarding the earthquakes and tsunamis lately, Earth is ever-changing. How could we not know that by now? If the person who said 'history repeats itself' is correct then there is no doubt that the tectonic plates of the Earth will shift again.
During June of 2013 I'm gonna be on my porch, sipping some lemonade and enjoying the beauty of nature while we have it.
Ta.
EDIT:
The scientific phrase 'an action has an equal and opposite reaction' applies no matter what. We've gone ahead and just done things without evaluation of consequence. That, my friends is the fatal flaw of humaninty that causes any damage to the Earth we've amounted.
If we were not-flawed (impossible) we would think like this
I may slap my self today and loose .002 percent of feeling that I would need later in life.
I built a car, therefore I release carbon emissions into the air.

IF the end WILL BEGIN it WILL BE STARTED BY US. The most probably end of humanity will be because of WWIII and atom bomb usage (I wonder who can be that stupid idiot to use it...) I thought that is only "mass fear weapon", but I am changing my opinion about this very fast. Look what is happening in the world...

My point exactly, it could be something as simple as that and yet everybody says "OMG LOL ITS TEH END OF TEH WURLD", acting as if the Mayans knew something like that.

do people really believe this? rember 06/06/06
if the world dose end anytime soon it will be because of us, either through global warming, or more likely through nuclear war ( and MAD). as has been said, the natural end is a couple of billion years away
