Not much is known about the new version (currently in alpha), but does anyone know if the game will be availabel in 64 bit, so 4gb or more ram can be utilized? Plus, will it support more than 4 cores?

I see no reason why not. AFAIK, Microsoft releases 64-bit versions of all their current software and games.

I doubt it. they fired all the people involved with the FS, they even had a professional military grade version they killed off...
Too bad I really wanted to play with that.
Might be a good thing they fired all the people who worked on FS. The game/simulator has so many performance and graphics issues, plus it doesn't even have sufficient training!

I reckon if they sell a 64-bit version, then it will be when 32-bit is totally ditched. Saves their backs and support calls for all the novice PC gamers who have no understanding of architectures.

no this is based online (according to my research) you have to dwonload it through a client and you have to have internet and a WL ID
I wasn't expecting to find anything like a build, but hoping I would. I did come across some more stuff about the graphics, and it looks like it is being far improved upon FSX

youre not going to come across a build or leak when any version is released you will have to download it through the Games for Windows LIVE Marketplace (the software client) and then you could run it on your Desktop although you will have to use a Windows Live ID to use it because you sign in to keep track of your progress and Microsoft Points, etc. and the desktop client also requires you to sign up for an XBOX LIVE account using a Windows Live ID

Yeah, right, because a PC game will require you to pay for XBOX Live. That makes total sense.
....where the hell are you getting this from.

Hate to break it to you, but maybe Microsoft is scraping their simulation series. Flight Sim was going pretty well with one being released in 2004, 2004 and 2006, but now its been 5 years and no new version except for that expansion. Also on the Train side, Microsoft Train Sim was made 2001. Microsoft announced a second version which was very legit and promising, however it got postponed to 2009 and after that it was canned. Maybe from this evidence Microsoft is pushing aside their Simulators and is trying to focus more on Operating systems and their Microsoft office franchise.

Welcome to the forum, here research on a subject and reading all posts in a topic is highly valued compared to just posting. This topic was created to discuss Microsoft Flight, the title of a new flight simulator announced in 2010 to be released late 2011 or early 2012. Here is the official site http://www.microsoft.com/games/flight/

I can personally confirm this. You have to at LEAST have a free Xbox Live account in order to sign up for the beta test. I actually had to go make one in order to finish my application.

Wait what, people have the beta? You have the beta? Why don't I have the beta?
Better search around then.
EDIT: Found it, and applied for it. Now I too can confirm you need XBOX Live for the beta, but maybe not for the final.
