It's a waste of your time to send that email, and a waste of time for them to reply to it. It's just as bad as those videos on youtube where kids ring Xbox support and ask to buy an XDK.

Customer Support probably have and no access to pre-release stuff and any information about it. You should try and contact someone who worked on Longhorn if you want more information, although they probably signed NDAs so won't be able to talk about it.

I don't believe MS has EVER given away an OS once it was a certain age, they just stop supporting it and forget about it, it would be like calling up Samsung and asking if they would start giving away CRT TVs because you are a collector.

You made my day Why would they give away their old OS for free? Apple hasn't so far (even though no one uses m68k anymore, and only few use ppc), Red Hat neither and Sun went bankrupt for giving too much stuff for free.
Did you write at this time because you've asked such stupid questions before? If so, you may stop for you won't get anything. All the betas are already released on the FTP.

Then I want to inform you that as I read once they have all builds of all Windows', leaked ones and unleaked. And they have all programs that were removed from MSDN Subscriber Download section due to settlement with Sun Microsystems corporation.
But don't think you'll get anything from their archive for nothing, especially it's Beta build of Windows and they become worried after Windows 8 leaks

You're not going to get anything. It's a waste of time.

There's no way. They would see no point anyway.

No comment on that e-mail, but...
Offtopic Comment
Somehow similar dumb thing I have done long time ago when I was using Windows ME. When WGA has been published, someone offered steps how to remove it. By some really stupid reason I've decided to contact MS thru e-mail about steps how to remove it and will they fix that (really, I was like 11 years old back then). I've got reply which just says that I'm supposed to contact Microsoft in my region, not US one (why the hell it depends when I've even explained everything in english...). So, I've decided to do it, but guess what? Opening Microsoft Support from my country caused Windows to crash, which makes me no choice to actually even try to contact them.

It's about as useful as asking Apple for an iPod touch 1G prototype or something.

You got both older 6.0.3, 6.0.5, 6.0.8, 7.0, 7.0.1 and 7.5.3 installations available. Full ones, not just updates. And it's still a lot more than Microsoft ever offered.
As for the email I agree with previous posters, Microsoft will not give you any info the official way. The fact that the representative that gave you the reply didn't even know what "Longhorn" was (he replied with you contacting the support and check for "release dates", duh) shows that they have no intention of giving out any real info.
Get in touch with a developer and see if they are ready to part with some internal information. Don't count on it tho.

I had an idea to email Microsoft about LH, but i was only thinking about it. Thank god, I didn't wrote a single letter to them, probably I would get the same message as Windows 8 Beta Fan... And W8 Beta Fan - You have too much time, give some to me, I bet, that I'll utilize it better.
