I'd like to make this clear once and for all:
We do not do name changes unless it is to your real name.
Far too many people have been asking this of late and it's getting tiring sending the same PM's. If you want to use another Alias, you need to have your current account closed and you must create a new one. Why? Two reasons. Firstly I don't have time to keep changing names for people. I do have my own life and work a regular job like everyone else. Secondly, it causes confusion on the forum whenever someone changes their name. People are referred to in posts and then change their name, that name then no longer points to anyone.
To those of you not registered yet, choose a fitting name because you will not be allowed to change it unless it's to your real life name.

Change the e-mail address in your profile to an incorrect e-mail so the account goes inactive. Only me or mrpijey can re-activate it if the e-mail is wrong because you need to click a link you receive in the e-mail. So either a wrong e-mail or just don't click the link.

I'm sure there is a verification system in place, maybe donators should be allowed a name change to their real name since donating is a form of verification. Or you could make a phone call to andy...

That's not the point.
Oasiz, you don't need to change your name to your real name. You can keep your alias, however if you want to change your name, it can only be to your real name unless you make a new account and start over. It causes too much confusion both ways but at least with real name it's easier to associate you with things.
I am still in talks with mrpijey about how to approach this. If anything changes you'll be notified.

I don't think letting users change their names to their real ones is a good idea. What if someone says their real name is Steve Jobs? I can already see Gateses and Jobses arguing on the forum...

I guess that was a badly-worded joke What I meant is changing my real-real name so that I can continue changing forum nicks as a workaround

Well that kinda sucks, but I understand the reasons why it's not easy to do it...

Only an admin can change the name anyways, the point is Andy's only going to change your name to your real name because that usually creates less confusion, whereas moving from one name that means nothing to another only serves to confuse matters.

Myself an mrpijey have now decided there will be no more name changes. The rules will be updated shortly to reflect this change and the registration guidelines will also be updated.

Favourite OS Windows 7/8. Oh and a bit XP.
He means that you are only able to change the name you choose for the forum to your real name. And a question,is this reversible(Going back to nickname)?
