This is a tutorial for fixing JailbreakMe 3.0's PDF exploit so you can retain your current jailbreak whilst keeping your iPod/iPhone/iPad safe. You will, of course, need to be jailbroken. (Redsn0w or JailbreakMe)

1. Launch Cydia and search for "PDF" no quotes
2. Download PDF Patcher 2 by Comex.

It's that simple! From now on, your iDevice will not be vulnerable to the PDF exploit that JailbreakMe 3.0 uses.

It's also worth nothing that the iOS 5.0 betas don't seem to be vulnerable to this exploit, so if you've already upgraded to those you're set.

Hopefully Apple releases an official update soon. Smartphones are going to be targeted with viruses just like desktops in the upcoming years. The fact that these phones can run elaborate programs and are always connected to cellular internet makes them a good target for virus makers.
