I have no idea (Doubt) if this is in any way possible however it might be nice to have a Facebook ID login for the boards if possible. Or maybe some integration e.g. " Be the first of your friends to like Beta Archive on Facebook".

Just an Idea. Everyone seems to have a Facebook Id and more places seem to be accepting it... I doubt it could be used on Forums, but just something to think about... depends on if people here use Facebook heavily. Just my opinion would be nice to see some Integration because (Looking for my site on the Facebook Dev) theres a lot of "goodies" there :D

Just an idea.

Nothing. Facebook ID allows you to sign in to places using your Facebook credentials.

I don't think that would be useful because then anyone could come and post on the site. Also, if you really want to be a part of this site suck it up and create an account.

Well then that would really suck, because you just added potentially millions of pointless users. We need the login system to stay the same. And, I don't want my real name broadcast all over the site, thank you very much.

Twas just an idea, a poll somewhere else ages ago found out that most people never remember Usernames and passwords for all sites and get irritated when changing passwords. Even MySpace let you log in with facebook! (How Wacky) I think all the FB ID does is share your info with the other site then creates you an account on that site with that info and lets you log into that site.... Not sure. Was just a crazy idea though.

Facebook Connect is quite difficult to install and would be useless here (a lot of people don't use FB)

^ This

I've looked at integrating FB login with a site before, and gave up half way because even though it would be useful, it wasn't worth it.

Not happening on BA, I can safely say.

I would have considered this however as said above lots of people value their privacy, and Facebook is quite "open" on lots of information. Lets just stick with the group :)

Let's not smudge another site with this Facebook craze every other site and software seems to go through. I for one does not use Facebook at all, I've closed down any accounts I've ever had and will never use them again. In the core Facebook is a good idea but people are way to careless with their personal information, and in return Facebook is way too careless with its security. With its ongoing controversy regarding personal privacy settings and security it's best for BetaArchive to stay away from Facebook or any other social network connectivity systems for that matter.

Forever.

If you want to scream out your real identity to the world then you do it on your own and it will be your responsibility, but don't involve BetaArchive in it. BetaArchive will always respect your privacy for any reasons you seem fit.
