In the about:config page of Chromium 13.0.763.0 (Developer Build 85072) I noticed a new UI feature in development, one that pushes the interface literally out of it's window, simply called "Compact Navigation".

Image

All of the normal Chrome commands are still visible in the top, with the omnibox only popping down when you click the tab or open a new one.

Another UI change in the works worth mentioning is the 4th revision of the new tab page:

foo and bar are meant to be places to store application links and more as it is further developed (still underway and non functional).

There are also a few other technical changes worth checking out that can be enabled in the about:config page showing off the future of the Chrome browser.

Code:

they found a serious flaw in chrome, but they plan to let the govt use it

You do realize major browsers usually have multiple of these come out every year? No browser is perfect, but it's frankly amazing that Chrome lasted that long without such an exploit being found.

Is your version equal to or greater than 13.0.763.0 (Developer Build 85072)?

How many public Zero-day exploits in Chrome? 1.

Try to count the number found in IE... good luck with that. Microsoft even takes YEARS to patch publicly known exploits...

@Hrimfaxi: http://build.chromium.org/f/chromium/snapshots/

Select according to your OS then scroll to the latest entry, Win_Webkit_Latest/ if you want the cutting edge chrome/v8/webkit for windows all at once.

Thank you. I have it now, this actually isn't too bad on a netbook.

I like it, I know they were working on it for a few months. Will be a space saver.

Need to use Chromium or Chrome Dev then go to About:flags to enable it. I think Chrome is getting better with this and the profile switcher!

They had a feature like this in old chrome os builds which they got rid of in the newer versions. I guess this is them bringing it back.
