And wow, I didn't know the school district was their own ISP.

@hb860, I think that is an Business Connection (unless UPC NL does not differ between consumer / business).

This is my home connection.
It fluctuates between this and about ~90/10


It always depends on how loaded the servers are and the routing to the test server.

Speed test breaks sometimes

Well yes that is very true, some years ago when I had pretty unstable ADSL net, it could give me like 50 mbps just because of MSN

My New Speed Test:

Basically I have a 8MBps wireless but usually get max 2MBps, a few times I got just over 512kbps. The neatest exchange is a few miles away and is supposed to be upgraded this month or so, keep asking why its never upgraded, but it seems us away out in the country away from the cities and towns are less important, so much so they forget about is here. I have a limited 40GB monthly cap and because the exchange isn't upgraded, my provider won't give me the exact same setup but with an unlimited cap. The Unlimited package is 8mpbs wireless for £5 month, I have 40GB cap, 8mbps for £17 a month, best I can get though, seem to be getting a raw deal here just to have a cap.

There's no way you have something like OC3 for only 17 dollars a month, those cost $20,000.-$45,000./month.

I can top that at school:

Gigabit connection, combine this with a premium usenet account and downloads are pretty much never a problem.

Paying for 12/5 so that's just average.

200/10, I get around 17-18M down and 1.1M up, speedtest is inaccurate
55e per month in finland. 110/5 is 45e.
I could also get an 1000/100 for 99e per month.
No caps or any limitations, I can chug like 1tb per month and nobody cares.
Some student apartments even get cheaper deals like 30e for like an 100/100 iirc.

I currently have a dualsim 3G plan that costs 12.9e/month and I've clocked about 1.1M down and 100kb/s up. (no caps or that stuff either). I think it should be able to go up to like 15/1.

This is the best I can hope for on my ADSL2+ at 3km from the exchange.
