Chrome! Safari sucks, IE isn't that great, Firefox is slow for me, and I haven't tried Opera.
My opinion, obviously.

I use all dev tester builds if there are any. I like the latest builds of chromium, minefield, IE9 is okay and so is opera 11.01, I like safari on a windows computer but it takes up ram so is better used on a mac. Cleartype makes safari stand out.

In the past I used Firefox, but it has become noticeably slower, and is now a total ram hog! So I switched to Chrome, it is much faster and even runs faster then firefox on my secondary, witch is an extremely old Windows 98 era laptop!
Although recently, Chrome has been acting up when I try to upload pictures or videos, and for some reason almost refuses to upload half of the time on uploaders from sites like Photobucket, anybody have any idea why this is happening? Due to this I have been using Firefox for my uploading needs, until I find a fix for this : \

Heh, I find it no better than the previous Firefox versions, which I found irritatingly slow and bloated. My opinion only.

I personally like Firefox and Chrome best. I'm all for the speed.
Definitely agree with you, with the exception of Firefox. Last time I actually used it was probably a month or two ago because it takes over 10 seconds just to load and it's the latest stable version. Chrome is awesome and Opera is decent. Waiting on IE9 to come out to replace my messed up IE8, which I dislike with a passion.

Netscape!!! j/k..
As I am a web designer I used a few but I like IE9 and Chrome, not every browser will work the same for viewing websites as website code won't run the same on every browser but those two I find work the best, especially when you don't need a lot of plugins and toolbars, where chrome comes in (except when it doesn't render some websites properly due to coding issues with the website). I know a lot of people use firefox, but I never seemed to like it for some reason. Haven't tried opera though.

What really puzzles me here ist how many people actually seem to like IE. Apart from the fact that for a web developer IE still has the tendency to cause problems with silly things (e.g. complex forms with more than one SUBMIT can cause you lots of headaches and force you to often unnecessarily ajaxify the whole page), I could never get used to its UI either. Bluntly speaking, whenever I had to use it it just plain annoyed me. Could it be that just so many people are used to using Windows, so they never really noticed how strange IE's UI is?
But as this thread is on the best rather the worst browser, I'll happily issue some statement on my preferences, too I used to like Opera a lot. Since I switched form Linux to OSX I got more and more frustrated with Opera's (lack of) quality on that platform, so I switched to OmniWeb which is an OSX-only browser. It's a bit outdated now, but its workspace feature is a huge plus.

I'd say both Chrome and Firefox are on par with each other in my oppinion however I'd most likely choose Chrome... But right now I'm using Firefox, so I chose that.

The only things that keeps me in Firefox are Adblock Plus and Fasterfox. Other than my dependency on those two add-ons, I think Opera is pretty slick and qualifies as one of the best browser in the market. I have a deep hatred towards IE and Chrome is not my piece of cake due to its overly-simple UI and its tendency to clutter up Task Manager, so I refrain from using those browsers. And I don't use Safari, either, so I don't know its performance...
