Has anyone figured out how to activate this build yet??

I'm very excited Windows 8 has finally leaked onto the internet. This is actually the reason why I finally decided to sign up this forum; to have a meaning for this date.

I can wait, since it's both Enterprise and headed for a VM (shootout vs. Vista Enterprise SP2 and 7 Enterprise SP1).

What VM software? VirtualBox? VMware? Bochs?

Virtual PC for Win7

I noticed a small but neat feature, when you click on the Battery Icon in the notification area it shows a brightness slider instead of the power plans. This is a little annoying when you want to switch plans, it likely will change though. But no option to turn off warnings about a degrading battery :/ Windows 7 had a option to stop warning me as my battery has lost it's capacity. This does not.

Any one put this on torrent or another mirror yet? can't wait to get my hands on this edition thank you soooo much anonymous!

No. That is Aero Lite - look at the scroll bars. The only thing is in 7850, only a few controls are changed (Scroll bars and buttons spring to mind).

Mite it be possible to take a theme from win 8 and apply it to win 7?

Is the main font really Segoe UI? Segoe UI Bold/light/etc.? or maybe Segoe WP? idk...im not good at finding fonts from pics

Did anyone try home networking or streaming on network?

Can anyone change the wallpaper? If I try any wallpapers apart from the Ssshh.. let's not leak our hard work wallpaper. It just turns black.

EDIT: To temporarily change it, go to %Appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Themes and delete Transcodedwallpaper and rename another picture to that name and place it in that folder. Now go to Personalisation and click on the Windows 7 default theme. Beware, once you switch to any other theme then back, Windows replaces the file... :/ Likely useful to them in the future builds so people don't change it from the crossword thing.

Can't wait for all the threads popping up asking if this M1 build is suitable for everyday usage and people complaining about application X, driver Y and hardware Z not properly working with it...

It's the virtual optical drive that VPC uses. It's one reason I keep VirtualBox *and* VMware Workstation around - some operating systems are picky; beta operating systems are even pickier!

Surprisingly, one area where VirtualPC stomps on both VirtualBox *and* VMware is OS/2 (eComStation these days) support. While it doesn't have up-to-date VM drivers for eCS, neither do the other two; further, it's the only VM solution that both supports OS/2 and doesn't require hardware-virtualization support to do so.

FIXED- Filesize problem

If you can find the drivers it should be easy enough to integrate them into the installer with ImageX and DISM. I just did it recently with Windows 7 SP1.

Anyway. The installer for this thing is definitely just Windows 7 RTM. This is a hacked together leak... wonder what the circumstances behind that were...
