I don't understand why you would shutdown your site.. it has nothing to do with win 8 at all...

Can you at least make the info available?

Thank you, it's an invaluable resource. You gave me a scare there, should have done it yesterday :)

Phew. :D
I would rather like to stick to older betas from now on, newer just take more space and make more problems.

But... main MCB is 404'd.

I moved the main site back ;).
Anyway, please read the notice I posted on MCB.

It wasn't meant to scare people off, just wanted to show that some people are taking beta's way to seriously.

Small Update that warrents a new post:

I got glass working in VMWare in Microsoft Longhorn 4039!!
Image

I have also updated it on my website in the older section:
http://www.microsoftcollectionbook.com/windows.php?page=windows/NT60/client/6040390/D1

It only needs 3 files and some drivers which will be posted on the same page in an hour or 2.

It is highly unstable.
It tends to display the taskbar in black (restart explorer for this) and it sometimes hangs.

hb860 is so kind to provide an working VM.
Just needs to activate it with C:\WINDOWS\I386\sbctl.exe start

It can be found later on on Dans34 VM Store (if he accepts the 1.4gb download).

Yup, only a notice maybe because you said on your site "All virtual machines have been installed with default settings unless otherwise stated."?

I did that once, but was unable to recieve transparency/glass, only a full foggy blur :P

Are there anymore steps/actions I must do to achieve this? Plus, it made the OS very unstable :S

also, another update (soon I hope) is a guide about how to get a CD-ROM Driver to work in NT 3.1 in Virtual PC, the Adapter Adaptec AHA-2940 should work ;)

CD-ROM Drives in VPC do not work in NT 3.1 (at least, maybe all 3.x) use SCSI CD-ROM's, VPC uses IDE drives, which do not work.

;)

Sorry for the double post:

And since VMware supports SCSI drives, it would be better to install NT 3.1 there, and is the S3 Video Driver supported there?

Just use the edit button ;)

Anyway.
VMWare supports SCSI Drives but also does not work.
Also it does not support the S3 Video driver.

You can try the VBEMP Driver, but I can't find an active download for it, and when I have tried it, it failed to even install.

Just use the installation guide given, it is easy to follow.

then trying setting up the hard disk as IDE and CD-ROM drive as SCSI?, hmm could work, or will not and gives a BSOD about the boot device?
