It's ugly don't use it if it gets released. That's Aero Lite, for [censored] computers, you'll most likely use normal Aero...

oh please. The support for Windows 7 ends 2015 for all editions except pro and enterprise which end on 2018 IIRC. if you believe that the update crap is true than they turned you into a zombie. And what about people that are still on XP? Unless they don't screw it up (again), I staying with 7. It is a bullseye.

What I meant are programs and such that only support 7.

Aero lite uses full power of DWM. It is have Win+Tab and all other features. I don't think what it designed "for [censored] computers".

Everything Microsoft!
Calm down please, gees.

It has been said before, nobody forces you to upgrade or change things.
It is your choice, if you want to stick to XP you will just loose out on newer things, but old things still work.

Also, DeFacto, as said by Hounsell and others it is just under development it is bount to change since it has many place holders.
If you do not like it, then don't use it that simple 8-)

Yeh, well, "Normal Aero" is going too supposedly, to be replaced with "Wind", whatever the hell that ends up being (some people are claiming it's a "full 3D" UI).

Yes, Probably Fake. Reason: No Windows Live Integration in SuperBar. 8-)

Fake. No Windows Live icon in the system tray and there's nothing blanked out after the build tag.

With Aero Lite theme leaked, it's easy to make your own fake :-)
Example:

Image

To modify your Windows 7 build number:

1-Open regedit.exe
2-Go To "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion"
3-Modify the value of "CurrentBuildNumber"
4-Restart explorer.exe

NOTE #1: This value only can be viewed on desktop, you should change the value "PaintDesktopVersion" to "1" in Key: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop"
NOTE #2: If your restart your computer the value will be restored to the original build number

well now we can at least confirm what's real and what's fake. Real screens should have a live icon in the startbar and an up one folder icon in explorer. the "new" one had neither of those. I also admit aero lite isn't that bad, but still needs some polishing to be done (round window corners perhaps?), which definetily will happend.

No not exactly like this. Yes the "up" button must exists but user picture (it named "User tile") can be disabled from taskbar's properties.

yes, but if anyone wants others to believe it's real, he probably won't disable user tile...

I would think that even if there are some people just wanting glory and power, they still respect the developers at Microsoft and don't want to see them fired, what with the new unique ID and Windows Live tie-in stuff.

I think it's just temporary, doesn't match the capitalization of the System Restore button above it.

looks nice, since the restore points can be deleted and then you're in trouble...

System reset is one of things which I've always wanted to have... If Windows just gets special sandbox-per-app configuration, perfection.
