Windows 2000 Datacenter Server is a variant of Windows 2000 Server designed for large businesses that move large quantities of confidential or sensitive data frequently via a central server. Like Advanced Server, it supports clustering, failover and load balancing. Its minimum system requirements are normal, but it was designed to be capable of handing advanced, fault-tolerant and scalable hardware for instance computers with up to 32 CPUs and 64 GBs RAM, with rigorous system testing and qualification, hardware partitioning, coordinated maintenance and change control. Limited number of copies of an IA-64 version, called Windows 2000 Datacenter Server, Limited Edition were made available via OEMs. System requirements are similar to those of Windows 2000 Advanced Server, however they may need to be higher to scale to larger infrastructure

This copy comes from an original cd , the files haven't been modified .

pwned I just know advanced server limited edition but here , this is datacenter server .

The distractor , I'm not really sure but I think that version comes with sp1 .

I tested this and for starters:

- It lacks a boot sector
- It's been edited multiple times, the ISO header shows both NERO BURNING ROM and ULTRAISO 9.3.6.
- Volume header is incorrect (WIN2000 DC SERV)
- Date stamps on the files say 2000-08-08 12:00:00, but the folders say 2002-07-13, and the time index jumps as if the folders were tagged and added by a burner app.
- SETUP.EXE and NTOSKRNL.EXE says it's 5.00.2195.1620.

I am going to fix the boot sector and header and install this, but from what I can see it's just a simple Datacenter Server ISO that has been edited and twisted by some amateur. I am going to see if I can verify the files somehow to see if anything is missing or modified.

But regardless of what Shew claims, this does not come from an original disc. As for what's been edited (except for the ripped out bootsector and header information that remains to be seen.

That is correct, but incorrect in your list of things.
Because it is with Service Pack 1 integrated.

RTM = 5.00.2195.0
SP 1 = 5.00.2195.1620
SP 2 = 5.00.2195.2951
SP 3 = 5.00.2195.5438
SP 4 = 5.00.2195.6717

But on the other points you are correct.

What exactly is incorrect in my findings? The version number I wrote matches the SP1 one you wrote. I never claimed anything regarding the version , all I did was print out the version and build of two common and important files.

Both Windows Powered & Datacenter server were released at the service pack 1 level...
Looking inside the driver.cab will also show such, it just doesn't show Sp1 in the system properties...
Remember that the driver.cab in 2000, XP & 2003 is never updated when service packs are slipstreamed into any ISO, it
always remains as it was when released, so if the driver.cab has files of 5.00.2195.1620, then it's a good chance it's an original,
or at least started out that way...
Even the setup.exe in the root directory should be version 5.00.2195.1620...

The ISO I have of the initial Datacenter release is 405,354,496 bytes in size, bootable, ISO Label = W2DOEM_EN,
& was made with cdimage 2.37...

I used ULTRA ISO to make the iso and post it to megaupload .

My version is a copy but comes from an original version , someone I know made it .

If you made an ''raw'' copy, it tags nothing and makes an 1 to 1 copy (including bootsector):

In poweriso it is easy:
-> Tools --> Make CD/DVD-ROM Image File --> select your drive and save it as .iso.

I have dealt with this before, and I find that it is practically useless without SP4. When you try to install it, it tells you that you must receive the update from the manufacturer.

Datacenter was released as OEM only, so MS made the service packs so it did a check to see if the OS being installed on
was Datacenter or not, if it was then you were meant to contact the OEM supplier of the machine for the updates, who then
supplied you with a service pack that would suit your machine, although there was a registry tweak that would bypass the
check for windows 2003,

Right click and choose "New" -> "DWORD Value".
Name the new registry key: "DTCUpdate".
Double click on "DTCUpdate" and set its "Value data:" to "1".

install \ slipstream like any other 2000 version...

No it doesn't work that way..The service packs themselves do a product check when starting
the installation, if it detects Datacenter it stops & says you need to contact the OEM vendor
that supplied the machine, like in this pic below, though you can patch the update.exe's in
any of the service packs to bypass the Datacenter check, then it'll install & seemingly run fine
from my own experience...
