A guy I know works at Microsoft Portugal and he says he's found this interesting OS on someone's PC that he also doesn't know what is it. Seems to be a Whistler in the 7 era. Next Windows?
I know someone at Microsoft Portugal that told me just today that the first Windows 8 build was already finished for a long time, so he gave me a screenshot of it, promising I wouldn't tell anyone. Sorry I couldn't resist:
There are some new features, the Windows Vista sidebar is back, they said it was prettier and the slideshow gadget now allows you to see videos too! An interesting new feature is that there's a close icon in any active program on the task bar, being easier to close them without interrupting your work. IE 9 hasn't been integrated on this one yet so they use FIREFOX! There are a few bugs though, he said some theme changes made the start menu icon be oversized and this build was based on Windows 7 beta, so the Windows 7 branding is still on the left bottom. And it's Media Center

Another 3D GUI pic, done much better: Who knows? We might see some stuff like this in Windows 8. And if you're wondering why the command prompt is flipped like it is, that would be a minimizing effect, flipping while shrinking.
