After seeing this post about MSDNAA servers, I decided to do some digging around the server listed in the thread, and I found a Checked Debug beta build of Windows Server 2003 x64 SP1 build 1069 (EN_Windows_2003_Server_Ent_64bit_AMD_ChkDbg.sdc).

When it first got to the graphical version of the setup, I decided to check winver, and I saw that the Server 2003 banner had a crudely-MS Painted "AMD 64" written in it.

Has anyone seen this build before, and does anyone have a serial number for it?

Thanks.

I don't know much about Server 2003 betas, but 1069 sounds way too low to be a Server 2003 beta.
Builds around 1000 were NT 3.51 betas.

Like I said, I don't know much about Server 2003, so I'm probably wrong.

1069 for a SP beta isn't that low - after all, the last leaked version of Win7 SP1 is build 153 iirc.
It's actually 3790 SP1 v1069, not Server 2003 SP1 build 1069, just as Win7 SP1 is 7601 SP1 v153.

Ahh I see.

Correct. NT 5.2 SP1 actually had a fairly long release cycle. Build 1069 was compiled on September 5, 2003, while build 1830 (RTM) was compiled on March 24, 2005 (ironically exactly two years after Server 2003 RTMed).

Anyone know of a serial number for this build? I've tried serials from other XP/2003 x64 betas and Server 2003 betas, but none seem to work. I really want to further test this build beyond the preinstallation environment.

Thanks.

Awesome, the key worked. Thanks!

Edit: I've run into a problem, I can't seem to install VMWare Tools. "Setup was unable to upgrade the Windows Installer."

I've just tried that, and apparently there are different versions of Windows Installer for checked/debug and free versions of Windows.

Use /x on the installer package to extract it. Then try manually replacing the files.

Have you tried this: Installing Windows Installer on Checked Builds of Windows

I'll try that, and report back if it works.
