Very nice, but i've never seen Windows 1 Developers Release 3 before, only Windows 1 Developers Release 5. Is this real or just a hack? Or maybe i should ask, are any of the known win 1.0 pre-releases real or just hacks? Sorry for a bit off-topic (?) and a dumb question, haven't had time to test them by myself, and i am not very into windows betas yet.

The Windows 1 DR3 is just an mislabeld 5. And they are real (the Windows 1 DR5, Alpha, Beta)
The Windows 1 DR5, Alpha need an special emulator to work. It only runs on an Intel 8086, 8088, 8186 processor (which any current Virtualization software cannot replicate).

Edit: Avast says that Microsoft Windows 98beta1 (Memphis 4.10.1532).iso contains a virus (MW97:Wazzu family). I don't now if this is a false alert or a real, but i deleted it anyway.

I have gotten Alpha to run in DOSBOX, however, you HAVE to install it over DOS 2.x or 3.0. Any newer version of DOS won't work with it. I used the PicoXT emulator to make a bootable hard disk image (containing DOS 2.1), and I also used PicoXT to install the alpha of Windows 1.x onto that image. Then I could just mount the image in DOSBOX and boot it.

Is the Nashville build 999 good? I heard it had some pretty sweet effects in it and I'd like to try it. Also I read that there was another build 1265(?) that was supposedly more stable, but I can't find it.

To install windows nashville(windows 96) you need to have windows 95 installed. And this build(999) have a very buggy install, and only boot in safe mode.

You need to use PCE - ibmpc emulator. I found this and tested.
