I can essentially test both, in Virtual Machines and on real systems. I have a spare hard drive in my main rig and several in a spare.

Not to be shamelessly advertising, but...
Longhorn X has made its home on EABG!

The project that does NOT HAVE a funny name.
And, as I see, that it's really wanted, I guess it's good ?
I hope I'll hear about it when it's ready to go.

//ex. project with funny name- Windows RG SP453 build_12_e9876(ReallyGood)

I never said the project would have a funny name. o_O

Anyways, possible change of plans.
I'll be experimenting with different things for the project. One of them may be to use Server 2003 and the WRK and make a sort of "Longhorn" build while still having it be partially a cloud OS.

No, haha, what I really ment was that, I see alot of projects that have funny names. My friend once made a Windows 98 ReallyGood (RG) edition, so thats kinda funny, but this is even better than "Vista" or whatever thing (I hate vista, the one they released). Altho I think Mac has OS X, so some of Mac lovers may me angry, and the design can be compared to the OS X (a little).

Anyway, sorry for my bad English.
And sorry if I messed with your minds. :D

Even though it won't look like OS X, I knew someone would figure out why I chose "Longhorn X" as the name ;)

So no Windows Server core? OK, that means I'll be getting VB6 soon.

It uses Windows Server 2003 as a core.
.NET will be included so you can use vb.net if you want :)

EDIT:
The first winmain build! It doesn't have much and it isn't anywhere near release, but this is the first unified build with all three SKUs (Personal, Professional, Server).

Here's a screenshot of Longhorn X Professional:

Sadly, networking is broken in this build.

Sadly, networking is broken in this build.

Is the aero from this build from a theme or was a program needed?

TrueTransparency with a custom skin.
Newest build also has a transparent, black taskbar with a plain white Windows logo.

Well, this is WRK kernel running on Longhorn, or server 2003 with new version and build?

WRK running on Server 2003, not Longhorn.
If you'll read the first post, I said that it's not Longhorn based, although understandably the merge may have caused confusion :P

Ok. But ... you will use the shell of Longhorn or will it create new things, or not do anything?

Well, on "SOS" screen, this is "nogui" option boot or not?
