It would certainly be useful, I am trying to decide between mandriva, ubuntu, kubuntu, and gentoo

Try them all for a couple of weeks and see witch one you like best

thats what i did, and i liked ubuntu best, it was a bugger to get my wireless card working tho, but i have yet to try gentooo and mandriva

Well, I have some dl's finished. By tonight, I will have rewritable live dvd's of ubuntu, mandriva, and gentoo. I am looking into getting cedga or crossover to help make the transition.

For ubuntu Wine works really well, not tryed it on kubuntu

Ive added retail discussion for windows, linux, mac etc. Now lets hope everyone uses the right forum, beta for beta and retail for retail.
