The WhistlerXP project is to try to make XP more like Whistler <= 2419. Based on XP Pro with SP3 and all current updates.
Targets:
Implement the Watercolour theme as default theme (probably requiring a uxtheme patch)
Make setup more like Whistler 2276 => 2416 (I prefer that design, I just like the little icons taken from win 98/98SE/ME setup).
Change all references of "Microsoft Windows XP Professional" to "The "WhistlerXP" Project"

Here's a screenshot of the setup design I'm aiming at.

My logo ofcourse sucks, so if anyone wants to do a set of new logos (boot logo, msgina logos) then you are free to do so =)

If anyone wants to help in other means they are free to do so aswell =)

This seems like a very interesting project. I am very willing to make a boot logo and such, where is the screenshot? By the way what is the msgina logo again? Boot logo must be a BMP?

The word "Here's" is a link to the screenshot: i couldnt put it directly in, because it was too big. The msgina logo is displayed on classic logon/"Shut Down" windows. It's located in msgina.dll, hence the term 'msgina logo'.

I can help with this project. I can reshack files and incorporate all of the hacked files into the disk, and i probably can change Windows XP Pro to The WhistlerXP Project

I am interested, but I don't really have much time. As of right now I am installing Whistler 1410 so I can get some resources for you.

I would love to help as well, though I've never seen Whistler before... but I do have experience with ResHack and such programs! If there's anything I can help with please let me know! :D

Well I thought "That logo needs some work" and looking through the thread, I found 1 person with an alt logo, although I did not like it much. so I thought Why not give it a go, so I put this together with Gimp, I am trying to mimmick the loading screen.
Sorry it is not rendered, I have no experience with that, but it looks damn nice :P

Thanks for the banners, they look great, although the one on the bottom the colours are now abit to bright and the "w" looks better higher then down there, seeing as it is caped

Ok, I will change the last banner again, making the colours deeper and i will change the capitalisation...

All you did was take my logo, DESTROYED the flag by painting black over it, then added some ineven loading dots and "Under Construction" to it. Try harder and learn how to, download gimp, and read some guides and mess around.

New banner! Fixed capitalisation and smoothed the colours down. Tried to use as much of the original rendering as possible.

Here. I made you a boot exe (ntoskrnl.exe) using resource hacker. This will work only if you check the info in reshack and your whistlerxp project builds are the same as what you see in reshack.

Download:
http://www.mediafire.com/?zt3onzulmiz

And obviously since I'm helping you, I want to test it also.
