Funny enough, i'm backing up SO i can back up!

specifically, i'm copying all my betas off my external hard drive so i can free it up for the HP MediaSmart LX195 i'm getting for christmas.

I am so lazy. I still have to back up lol

I just had to do that last week! I ran out of space on my old external hard drive, so I needed to back it up to the new one, to back up my other computer.

I backed up today to my new external hardrive

I have a 1tb drive that I backup my:

Documents Folder
Picture Folder
Videos Folder
Lexar ThumbDrive
Beta ISO's and IMG's (VHDs, too)
Tour Videos
Windows 2000 partition

I guess i need to do that soon too, because my 700 GB external Trekstor HDD still have 150 GB free, and the main problem is that i have it since a year now and didn't even formated it since i bought it, and i just don't want it to crash and that i lost all my files...
I've had a HDD crash of a internal HDD once and it was really crappy, i lost some files as well. Yeah i backup my important files every week, and i do a fresh windows install like 4 times a month.

I sometimes wished I enjoyed backin up stuff a bit more...

now that my HS is set up, it backs up my PC every night

My PC got a virus, so I need to restore from backup.

Well it can never hurt to have a backup of your backups!


That's something that I need to do more often. I almost never do a fresh install, except after I buy a new computer.

I normaly just Reformat as i don't have any important files on my PC. I always store them on an external Drive.

I haven’t backed up since August so I really need to get some sort of system in order.

I usually sync everything to my fileserver every couple of days. The important bits get copied to DVD every so often aswell.

Just set up my Time Machine. Hourly backups, and the UI is so cool!

I still use 3.5" floppies for my backups <,>
1.5 kb textfiles tend to...use 1.5 kb of disk space.

I'm not making the same mistake as I had about 2 months ago. Damn power spike ruined my PC.

Now I back up on a SSD and keep that in storage.

Yes, i am currently running a back up of my user folder when reading this topic.
Actually i need to back up more often. A scheduled task or something like that is the best for me.

at home i backup never. but at work sometimes i back up important data to the server

I rarely back up most of the stuff on my computer but my important documents are on Dropbox so it doesn't really matter.

On work pc once a week an update is scheduled. On home pc I wish I would did it monthly

I have a Seagate 500GB drive where I backup all my downloads, music, and few betas.

I backup nightly, thanks to Windows Home Server

DON'T BACKUP INTO A MEMORY STICK BECAUSE THE DATA WILL BE LOST!!!
