Thank you, those Longhorn Days are ones of my favourite prototypes.
Anyway, what was the point of placing them in those fat borders, or did they came like this originally? That's not a problem, i've already cropped them to 1024x768, i'm just curious.

And another video! This one has a full screen view of the log in animation along with the music animation from the last video. I'll do some resource hacking in due time. Patience my friends. If the video doesn't play yet, it's still processing. I'll be providing links to high-resolution downloads of these videos soon as well. =)
EDIT - Okay, I straightened out the audio issue. Here's the link to the video:

Love the login animation stuff, I think if nothing else the animated wallpaper would be doable without looking over the top or distracting. The spinning shiny icons though I think could do with spinning a shorter distance and slower so as not to be quite as in-your-face, but overall I love that video, I think it has some interesting components which, with some tweaking, could work without looking too busy or garish. Cheers for the uploads, ReflectiaX.

Yeah, I think so, too. I almost feel like Microsoft has lost their connection with the non-professional/business crowd. The users who want to see effects, transitions, and over-the-top graphics... maybe they represent a small demographic that isn't worth Microsoft concentrating on but I think they need to really add something flashy out-of-the-box and not just wait for developers to do something about it, then charge people for it (if they even find out about the application(s) in the first place). If they really want to take market share away from Apple, they need to meet or beat them at the UI. I think Windows 7 is a fantastic start, but crap like hovering over the show desktop button to make windows transparent (how is that useful again?), aero shake (I never use it and always forget it's there to even use), revolving desktop wallpaper... I just never use any of the flash they've implemented into Windows 7 because I don't think it's really all that useful. And when I DID use it, it was like, "cool, check that out!" but then the novelty wore off and now I forget it's even there.
Then again, I don't NEED all the flashy stuff - it would just be nice to have sometimes. At least the option of it would be great for those who it would really matter to.

hell if MS natively left Aero as is and made it so you could easily apply the "flashy eye candy" and would make it so people could choose or not choose the eye candy, like the windows7 taskbar animation stuff you showed on yer site, we should have that!! totally, but we dont, for no real reason either, people are wanting that!!
Sumthin like an Aero Extreme (although i hate the term extreme) which would be easlily applyable like any other theme, with maybe a reboot required...it would be easy-peasy for MS to implement such things as we now know they exist, just like a lot of the older Longhorn stuff could totally be emplemented as well, a lot of the ideas that were implemented into windows 7 were cool, i never use AeroShake as well or the shuffling wallpapers, or the show desktop button either.

OMG now waiting for more LH 4057 alike stuff, eg. Hillel demo or something like that (Longhorn Full Prototype, etc.) Anyway, wouldn't it be easier to upload the demo itself?
