Here is a list of BIOS-Dates, which must be set to install Longhorn alphas:

Code:
Longhorn 3683 (BIOS 23.09.02)
Longhorn 3706 (BIOS 29.10.02)
Longhorn 3718 (BIOS 19.11.02)
Longhorn 4008 (BIOS 19.02.03)
Longhorn 4011 (BIOS 05.03.03)
Longhorn 4015 (BIOS 28.03.03)
Longhorn 4028 (BIOS 01.07.03)
Longhorn 4029 (BIOS 19.06.03)
Longhorn 4033 (BIOS 17.07.03)
Longhorn 4051 (BIOS 01.10.03)
Longhorn 4053 (BIOS 22.10.03)
Longhorn 4066 (BIOS 17.02.04)
Longhorn 4074 (BIOS 25.04.04)
Longhorn 4083 (BIOS 16.05.04)

It takes me a lot of time to google for this list. It could be usefull for everyone who want to have a look at the old version.

dd/mm/yy as there aren't 23 months. You can figure it out from the build string

Just a sidenote, you don't have to adjust your clock if you're going to Install 4093.

10 long years, frig the scene anymore.

Kids think they have deep in sources at the age of 12, why bother caring when no one receives respect anymore, they assume bullcrap, but that's all they are.

As you know in 4074 and later it doesn't need to be applied.
Heavily tested and confirmed. (by me)

Maybe there are different versions of it and they behave diffferently. Can't tell for sure.

Yeah, there is the normal .wim version, and the WIM Repack, which works excactly like the Windows XP Setup. Further there is the x64´Version, I have never tested..
But, the difersnce between the wim and the wim repack version is that the repack has no timabomb, but you have to change your bios date...

I just used the list and it worked perfectly!! Thanks a ton. I just need to find a way to keep the BIOS date the same.

Thanks for the list.

But, I have a question: Do you have to do this for VM's?

yes, but you must disable host clock sync in order for it to work.

Thanks!
Did I need these Dates only for Longhorn or for other Operating Systems like Whistler?

As the title says, Longhorn. Whistler betas (and others) have other dates that have to be set depending on the actual build you're going to install.

I don't think you need them for the vista betas, you didnt for the later longhorns either.

you can get all known windows compile dates on the Microsoft OS Checklist

Beta 2 and after do have expiry dates (end of this month), so presumably after that you'll need to set the correct time to be able to install them. Not sure about the ones before Beta 2, although I think most MS betas do have expiry dates.

Yeah, I know, but what I was saying was that the date you install it does not matter unless, obviously, its after the expiry date. Personally, Just set the date back really far, Ive installed beta 2 on a pc with the date around 2000, no problems. I dont think that matters.
