This is maybe just a rumor, however, Softpedia via techit.co.il report there

Quote:
The Redmond-based software giant is expected to release Build 6.2.8888.16385.win8_rtm.120724 1555 in the coming days.

Image

So please someone, Andrew or T4C Fantasy to check is this real or a fake information.

P.S. This is the picture in full resolution from that build

Image

EDIT/UPDATE:
Windows 8 RTM x86 was leaked (see down)

i don't think the RTM will leak... before there were rumors that the Release Candidate will leak but in the end we had to wait for the official release by Microsoft.

But the Release Candidate was leaked. In Chinese, but it was leaked. Some MUIs were leaked too, including the non-released by MS en-GB package.

Well you have wzor and win8china saying its gonna be 9200 so as to go on to the 7.0 build chain for Windows 9. And Canouna saying nah its gonna be 8888 as the final.

At this point they are both equally valid sources of information however what MS chooses to do is what MS does.

In that case I say it'll be build 8887. Really, there is no way of telling, they don't just start out and say "Well, whatever we have at build 9999 we'll throw out, working or not". Whatever the build number turns out to be must be the build number it took to get the major bugs and stuff out.

They usually increase the buildnumber to something easy. If the final buildnumber turns out to be 8873 they'll use 8900 or 9000.

Microsoft have no problem at all with rounding out or changing build numbers to suit themselves - it can make it easier internally for `bookkeeping` purposes. I actually asked Steve Sinofsky about this with (iirc) the build number jump for the final build of 7 and he said as much.

Where do you want to go today?

All Microsoft operating systems!
Is this the RTM "Gold" build, or is this another RTM candidate build? Either way, though, I'm currently on the Release Preview build, however, if I see this build come up anywhere, I'll definitely add it into my collection.

By the way, does anyone know if there are any updates in this build (from the Release Preview, that is)?

Reports of the final Release to Manufacturing (RTM) build 9200.16384.WIN8_RTM.120725-1247 surfaced over at Win8China today, who also leaked a copy of the final lock screen image to accompany the default wallpaper. According to our own sources, build 9200 is the final one. The compile process started on Wednesday — outputting SKU, language, and install variations.

After all, I was right.

You remember "The Official "guess Windows 8 RTM build number" thread"?

CaptainPeanut wrote:
My guess : Build 9200
Because 7's RTM build is 7600. 7600 / 16 is 475. 575 * 16 = 9200.

Yeah you are right!

Now do you want to explain what your values means?

7600 = is Windows 7 final RTM build number string
16 = ?
why do you add plus 100 on 475?

Some claims were that MS made Windows RTM build numbers divisible by 16 starting with Vista.
Vista RTM was 6000.
6000 / 16 = 375
7600 / 16 = 475

Then, if 475 - 375 = 100, the logical thing would be to add 100 to the next release build number.

Easily said, add 1600 to the RTM number of current Windows and you have build number of next RTM of Windows.

We have previously reported that Microsoft's employees have been given the keys to install the final version of Windows 8 RTM ...

I doubt it, when has Canouna ever leaked ANYTHING? And I doubt he would put his name on it if he did leak it.

Well one thing I know isn't true is that Canouna leaked it. That's just total BS. I still want to see what's in this ISO though.
