Is there any want for a Copy of Windows 8 Release Preview that I modded to make it possible to upgrade from the Consumer Preview? When I say upgrade I mean having the ability to keep all files, folders, Apps, etc. Without doing a clean install?

This ^ ^ ^

I'm just curious.

I was able to do that without a special disk image. And you realize that you basically said "upgrade from the Release Preview to the Release Preview"?

lol I corrected my wording my bad. What I meant was upgrading from Consumer Preview to Release Preview without loosing anything.

@ Beta was this the orginal ISO that didn't support upgrading that well?

This would have been so useful to me last week. I had the CP with all of my files on it, and when I installed the RP, it didn't make a windows.old folder! It just deleted all my files. Nice work, though!

I can probably do the same thing with the RTM. I've been hearing that quite a bit I was delayed by the minor fact that I was on the road when the Release Preview was released and only had a laptop with me. So when I got back I started playing around with it in a safer environment aka Vmware Workstation. Thus far on the machine I'm typing from I can say no issues have presented themselves. I have more I can toy with though. I don't know about upgrading from the Release Preview to RTM however but given the nature that there trying to go gold in a month I'll decide then.

According to MDL forums (?), you surely can. Change the iso to a certain filename, then mount it. Some say it's possible.
