Hi,

I want to have 4053, 4074, 4074x64, 4093 and 5112 on single DVD, is this possible?

I've found this, but this is for Vista: http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/94976-h ... -same-dvd/

EDIT: 4074, sorry...

I want to include in it my desired builds, how did you do it?

BTW. How to mount Longhorn wim on Vista - ximage's driver gives me blue screen and imagex (from Vista AIK) gives me error:

Install.wim <- 'nuff said. I made my Windows 7 Ultimate DVD include x86 and x64 architectures by modifying mine. Very handy.

No, but you can repack a Longhorn WIM to Vista, 7 type WIM.

I think the best way to do that is:

1. Create a folder on a hard drive with enough space.
2. Mount an empty Vista WIM into that folder.
3. Subst this folder to X:, Y:, etc.
4. Apply the Longhorn WIM to X:, Y:...
5. Unmount commit the Vista WIM.

How to empty Vista WIM?

So it will contain only 1 and 2 index.

BTW. /append will add next indexes, yeah?

This makes the most sense. In fact, I'd have to say that this is the only REAL way to accomplish this. That said, you'd still need to do this with all versions of LH you want, then with the set of WIM's you've created, append those images to a single WIM that contains all the images. The only issue I can think of is that since each binary is different, there won't be much in the way of de-duplication-based compression.

Just create one via diskpart on a system running Vista or 7.
My bad, only 7 is supported for that method.

Ah, that...

Thanks, I didn't know about that. (I'll test it when I'll be back on Windows)

No problem, you can also use this within the WinPE 3.0.

EDIT:
And I was wrong about Vista, only in Windows 7 and later you can create VHDs, and then convert it to WIMs. :$

Try this empty.wim I just made: http://clck.ru/d/p71q0Xaa15jrB

"Windows cannot display images avaiable for installation."

~Windows gives me this, after converting images to Vista format and then using this: http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/94976-h ... -same-dvd/

If you are going to turn on the machine or virtual machine, let Windows XP or whatever turn on, open my computer, click on the CD drive, and double-click on the Longhorn build installer you want, then that's possible :)

But if you want to boot the computer from the disk - even if it's a physical computer or virtual machine - forget about it. The computer won't be able to boot up from the disk.

Learn how to ximage and Windows 7 installer. One installer, multiple selections thanks to install.wim.
